One Round of Interview Job Overview We are hiring multiple Level 2 Data Center Field Operations / Network Technicians to support enterprise data center operations. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with data center operations, network infrastructure, structured cabling, fiber optic and copper cabling, circuit testing, and hardware installation . This is a hands-on field role requiring candidates to work in an active 24/7 data center environment and provide support during regular hours, nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call periods as required. Responsibilities Perform loopback testing, circuit verification, connectivity testing, and cable testing . Install, terminate, trace, label, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic and copper network cabling . Perform cable tracing and verify network paths, circuits, ports, and connections. Support rack-and-stack activities, hardware installation, equipment deployment, and data center infrastructure projects . Troubleshoot physical-layer network connectivity and cabling issues. Support network infrastructure teams with cable installation, testing, troubleshooting, and circuit restoration. Use appropriate cabling tools and testing equipment to identify and resolve faults. Maintain accurate documentation of network paths, circuits, cable routes, ports, and infrastructure changes. Respond to urgent and critical data center incidents and assist with service restoration. Provide 24/7 field support , including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage as required. Coordinate with network engineers, remote support teams, vendors, and other data center personnel. Follow all data center security, safety, and operational procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Required Qualifications 5-8 years of experience in data center operations, network technician, structured cabling, network infrastructure, or field services. Solid data center and network technician experience in an enterprise or large-scale environment. Hands-on networking/network cable experience with both fiber optic and copper cabling. Experience with cable installation, termination, testing, tracing, labeling, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of network infrastructure including racks, patch panels, switches, ports, circuits, and cabling systems . Familiarity with cabling hand tools and testing equipment . Ability to read and understand cabling diagrams, network documentation, and circuit information. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively with cross-functional technical teams. Must be willing and available to provide 24/7 support , including nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call coverage. Willingness to travel 100% based on project requirements. Preferred Skills OTDR testing PMLS testing Fiber fusion splicing Mechanical splicing Experience supporting large-scale enterprise data centers. Knowledge of structured cabling standards and data center best practices. Experience working with network engineering, NOC, or network operations teams . Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. with appropriate assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work for extended periods. Comfortable working in confined or restricted-access areas. Comfortable working in an active data center environment. Ability to safely handle and install network equipment, cabling, and related infrastructure. Must comply with all site-specific safety and security requirements.
