[Leapros] Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Data Center Technician II (#2026-3741 - Irving) in Irving, TX. The Data Center Technician II is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and documentation of structured cabling systems within a mission-critical environment. This role focuses on pulling, dressing, and terminating Cat5e/Cat6 cabling while ensuring all work meets TIA/EIA standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with structured cabling and is comfortable working under the guidance of senior technicians to support data center infrastructure.

Per Hour BOE Responsibilities:

Pull, dress, and label Cat5e and Cat6 cabling according to TIA/EIA standards to ensure organized and efficient cable management. Perform RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance from senior technical staff. Assist in comprehensive labeling and identification of cable runs to maintain accurate infrastructure records. Perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks as part of the network deployment process. Conduct cable testing using tools such as Fluke or EXFO under supervision to verify performance and connectivity. Dress and handle fiber optic cabling to ensure signal integrity and adherence to handling standards. Maintain a clean, organized work environment and strictly adhere to all site safety protocols. Take direction from senior technicians and supervisors to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.

Qualifications:

Proven hands-on experience with structured cabling installation and maintenance. Previous experience working within a data center environment is highly preferred. Functional knowledge of TIA/EIA cabling standards and best practices. Familiarity with cable termination techniques for RJ45 connectors and patch panels. Experience using basic cable testing equipment, specifically Fluke or EXFO tools. Basic understanding of fiber optic cable handling, dressing, and identification. Ability to interpret labeling schemes and follow technical instructions from senior staff. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and stretch for prolonged periods during a shift. Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights safely. Ability to work in confined spaces and reach into tight or restricted areas. Must be able to see and distinguish different colors for accurate cable identification. Manual dexterity required for handling small connectors and specialized hand tools.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated pay range for this position is $23 to $30 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
