Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Data Center Chief Engineer to lead mission-critical operations for a high-availability facility in Chicago. You will own reliability of electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure, manage 24/7 maintenance programs, and direct on-site engineering staff and vendors. The role includes implementing SOPs/MOPs/EOPs, incident response and root cause analysis, budget management, and continuous improvement aligned with client SLAs, safety, and sustainability goals. Collaborate with JLL's global experts to drive innovation in resilient, efficient data center operations. Responsibilities Lead day-to-day engineering operations for a mission-critical data center, ensuring uptime and reliability of all critical systems. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for electrical, mechanical, and control systems using CMMS and best-practice standards. Manage and mentor on-site engineering staff, contractors, and vendors, including scheduling, training, and performance oversight. Develop, implement, and enforce SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs for safe, compliant, and efficient operations. Monitor and optimize building management and monitoring systems, responding to alarms and incidents in real time. Conduct root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions. Manage operating and capital budgets, assist with forecasting, and support asset lifecycle planning. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements and support audits and client reporting. Partner with clients and internal stakeholders to support reliability, capacity planning, and sustainability goals.
