Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking Data Center Technicians to support a large enterprise technology organization across three Austin-area data center locations. This team will move together between sites as project phases are completed, supporting ongoing network infrastructure initiatives. Contractors will work alongside on-site operations teams, receiving direction from network engineering teams and oversight from site leadership. This is a hands-on role in a professional data center environment, requiring candidates who are comfortable with physical work, attention to detail, and adherence to operational standards. Responsibilities
  • Pull, decommission, and inventory network switches across multiple data center locations
  • Read and interpret cable labels, port mappings, and installation documentation
  • Manage and update work tickets through ServiceNow
  • Execute tasks and prioritize work based on direction from network engineering teams
  • Travel between Austin-area data centers as deployment and migration phases are completed
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and follow established data center operational procedures
  • Collaborate with on-site teams and escalate issues or questions to leadership as needed
  • Perform equipment, asset, and infrastructure audits
  • Troubleshoot network and infrastructure-related issues under the guidance of senior team members
  • Support hardware installation, decommissioning, cabling, and rack-and-stack activities

  • 8 months to 2 years of hands-on, physical data center experience
  • Experience must be on-site and physical (other experience will not be considered equivalent)
  • Basic familiarity with networking concepts (switches, cabling, port-level work)
  • Professional appearance and conduct (business casual or better; no open-toed shoes or inappropriate attire)
  • Ability to work in hot rack environments for extended periods
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively
  • Reliable mobile communication access (phone/email) for real-time updates and coordination
  • Comfortable working across multiple locations within the Austin metro area
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow ticketing systems
  • Experience with switch decommissioning and installation
  • Ability to read and interpret network tabs and documentation This role is onsite in Round Rock, TX (Austin, TX)
Compensation:
$20/hr to $25/hr
  • Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Additionally, employees in this role will have access to paid sick leave and other paid time off benefits as required under the applicable law of the worksite location.
