Job description About the RoleJoin our team as a Data Center Technician in Sterling, United States. This is an onsite, contract/freelance, dispatch-based position where you'll support critical infrastructure at data center facilities in and around the Reston area.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain server and network equipmentPerform structured cabling, including copper and fiber opticExecute hardware deployments, replacements, and decommissionsPerform onsite troubleshooting and hardware break/fixRack, stack, de-rack, and relocate equipment as requiredPerform power cycling and basic equipment checksFollow MOPs, SOPs, safety procedures, and client requirementsMaintain accurate documentation, tickets, photos, and asset recordsCoordinate with remote engineering, NOC, operations, and client teamsSupport planned maintenance, upgrades, and infrastructure changesWork independently onsite and escalate issues when required3+ years data center operations experienceExpert cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber)Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilitiesExperience with rack and stack operationsUnderstanding of power distribution and UPS systemsExcellent documentation and communication skillsAbility to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding environmentsData center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, CDCE)
