Job Description

Title:
Data Center IT Technician Location:

Quincy, WA (must be open to working in Wenatchee as well, there is a chance down the road the position moves there)

Start Date:
ASAP Duration:

4 months with potential extensions up to 18 months (possible full-time conversion)

Shifts:

Looking for candidates that can work either shift

A-Side:

Sun-Tue & every other Wed (12-hour shifts)

B-Side:

Thu-Sat & every other Wed (12-hour shifts) 1+ years of experience (data center, network deployment, or hardware installation experience ideal) Hands-on experience with rack & stack / hardware installs and/or fiber optic cabling (LC, MPO, etc.) Strong break fix experience and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues and replace faulty components Willingness to work flexible hours, including extended shifts and weekends Strong focus on safety and attention to detail Experience in hyperscale or cloud data centers (Microsoft, AWS, etc.) Familiarity with high-speed networking (100G/400G environments) Experience with Cisco 8000 or Arista 7800 series switches Background in large-scale network deployments or migrations Experience with optical testing tools like VeEX or similar Prior involvement in network turn-up or commissioning activities Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission Run/Label/Stage Power & Networking cables DBD removal only (does not perform any scanning) Follows procedures for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, and/or decommissioning equipment with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions, checklists, guides, standard procedures, and with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads Physical audits of datacenter assets Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs startups and shutdowns (e.g. racks hard drives, switches) according to specific instructions, checklists, guides, standard protocols, and e-mails Performs post-execution quality checks and verifies that grounding, staging, labeling, and cabling are set up properly according to safety protocols, deployment standards, and planned Network Design Tasks (NDTs) Performs diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures, quickly identifies the cause(s) of issues, and replaces faulty components Decommissions hardware for simple changes and refreshes (e.g. memory upgrades, OS rebuilds) following standard procedures with minimal guidance Follows procedures to communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate

Datacenter Technician Leads Pay:

$24.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
