Job Description
A large Data Center in Cheyenne, WY is hiring multiple Data Center Technicians to join the team for a great long term opportunity!
Job Duties:
Install, configure, and maintain data center hardware, including servers, racks, network equipment, and power distribution units (PDUs). Manage cable infrastructure, including structured cabling and fiber optic systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Conduct equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs to minimize downtime and optimize performance. Collaborate with network and system engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware with the data center environment. Perform routine inspections to verify environmental and equipment health, including cooling systems and backup power solutions. Plan and oversee the installation of external infrastructure such as conduits, cables, poles, and related facilities. Ensure proper routing and termination of fiber optic and copper cables for connection between buildings or to external network providers. Inspect and maintain outside plant infrastructure to mitigate risks of damage and ensure long-term reliability.Qualifications:
1-3+ years of prior IT related experience with previous Data Center/Cabling exp being a plus but not required. Knowledge of structured cabling standards and fiber optic technologies. Familiarity with environmental systems such as HVAC, electrical backup systems, and fire suppression systems. Low voltage experience is a big plus but not required. Prefer cabling experience (coax, fiber, cat5, cat6, punch downs, etc.) but not required. High school diploma or equivalent. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
