Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Manager of Operational Data & System Implementations to lead our data management initiatives and oversee the successful deployment of complex data systems. This role is vital in driving data-driven decision-making, ensuring data integrity, and implementing innovative solutions that support business growth. As a key leader, you will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage large-scale projects, and uphold the highest standards of data quality and governance. Your expertise will empower our organization to harness the full potential of our data assets and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and implementation of operational data systems, including data warehouses, databases, and analytics platforms. Oversee the integration of big data technologies and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems. Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables using agile methodologies to ensure timely execution of system implementations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including IT, analytics, compliance, and business units—to gather requirements and deliver tailored data solutions. Monitor and improve data quality through rigorous validation processes, data model design, and ongoing quality management practices. Support the phased migration from Microsoft Dynamics GP (legacy ERP) to a new ERP by managing data export, cleansing, and import tasks as each business unit transitions. Maintain clean field mapping, consistent data entry standards. Flag data quality issues or gaps, so the CEO and implementation team aren't surprised mid-migration.. Utilize business intelligence to create dashboards and reports that support strategic decision-making. Pull and cleanse sales order data to build a weekly sales reporting packet — sales by product line, gross profit %, and year-over-year/year-to-date trends, plus new prospects, opportunities, and customers. Help design and oversee a simplified reporting layer on top of ERP data — in partnership with our existing technical resources — so the business can get fast, self-serve reporting without a full BI build-out. Lead efforts in master data management initiatives to establish consistent definitions and control over critical enterprise data assets. Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies for enhanced data collection and processing capabilities. Skills Extensive experience with database management systems such as Oracle, SQL databases, and SQL Server environments. Proficiency in programming languages including Python for automation and advanced analytics tasks. Strong knowledge of ETL tools like Talend or Informatica for efficient data integration workflows. Expertise in big data platforms and technologies supporting large-scale analytics projects. Demonstrated ability in data model design, database schema development, and warehouse architecture. Skilled in using business intelligence tools such as Tableau for visual analytics and reporting purposes. Solid understanding of regulatory compliance management related to sensitive or regulated data sets. Proven project management skills with experience leading complex system implementations using Agile methodologies. Excellent analysis skills with a focus on data collection strategies, quality monitoring, and cross-functional communication. Leadership qualities that inspire collaboration across teams while maintaining high standards for data governance and information security. Join us to lead transformative data initiatives that shape our organization's future! Your expertise will help us unlock insights from vast datasets while ensuring integrity, security, and compliance at every step.
