Job Description

As the Technical Lead for Client Devices, you will own the lifecycle, security, and performance of all endpoint hardware and software within the lab environment. This includes high-performance workstations, mobile devices, and specialized lab-connected peripherals. Your mission is to ensure researchers have seamless, secure access to critical tools while maintaining strict compliance and data integrity. You will lead the strategic design, implementation, and management of the client device infrastructure, ensuring smooth integration of lab technologies and driving innovation while upholding rigorous security standards. Key Responsibilities 1. Infrastructure Strategy & Management Design and maintain a scalable client device architecture supporting complex research workloads and high-throughput data processing. Lead implementation of Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) solutions (e.g., SCCM, Intune, KACE) for provisioning, patching, and software deployment. Architect and manage backup solutions for comprehensive device data protection. Evaluate and standardize next-generation hardware (e.g., GPUs, VR/AR devices, specialized sensors). Design and implement VDI or DaaS solutions for remote high-performance computing access. Deploy monitoring and self-healing solutions (e.g., Nexthink) to optimize device performance. Collaborate closely with R D, IT, and Security teams as a technical liaison. 2. Device Integration & Directory Services Design, implement, and manage Active Directory structures and security groups. Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and generic lab device accounts. 3. Vendor & Project Management Act as the primary point of contact for vendors, managing relationships and resolving escalations. Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and contractual obligations. Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation for infrastructure initiatives. 4. Security, Compliance & Risk Enforce organizational security policies across all client devices. Identify vulnerabilities and implement proactive risk mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate security standards. 5. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Evaluate emerging technologies and lead adoption to enhance lab capabilities. Contribute to long-term strategy for device management and integration. Develop and deliver training programs for lab personnel. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
