Patch Manager 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830 $50 an hour - Contract Pomeroy 664 reviews $50 an hour - Contract Patch Manager Administration /Migration Technician Job Description A core requirement of this role is the expert-level administration of Patch Manager software to document, plan, and verify all physical layer connectivity and asset placements. The technician ensures 100% data integrity between the physical data center floor and the Patch Manager digital twin, to drive all capacity planning, cable pathing, and asset tracking activities. The technician will also manage inventory, update systems, and ensure compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Patch Manager Administration:
Support migration efforts to transition infrastructure data from legacy spreadsheets or databases into the Five Points Patch Manager platform. Serve as the primary administrator for the Patch Manager environment, ensuring all moves, adds, and changes are mapped digitally before physical execution. Perform end-to-end connection tracing within the software to validate signal paths across copper and fiber backbones. Maintain the data integrity for rack elevations, floor plans, and port-level connectivity. The candidate should be familiar with the following functions/responsibilities to be able to properly audit for the Patch Manager migration. They will not perform the functions listed in italics below. They will need to understand them for proper auditing needed for application updating and migration
Installation & Decommission:
Install equipment per rack and power assignments. Perform fiber optic splicing and install rack blanking panels. Safely remove and pack equipment. Complete administrative updates in CMDB and DCIM systems. Prepare decommissioned equipment for disposal. Secure and document HDDs for shredding.
Structured Cabling Maintenance:
Install, maintain, and de-install copper and fiber infrastructure. Update documentation and panel schedules. Label all physical infrastructure in strict accordance with the records maintained in Patch Manager.
Additional Requirements:
Participation in internal training programs covering security, safety, and reporting procedures. Documentation Management IND 123
Pay:
$50.00 per hour
