Clarificion from the agency Open to current permanent FAA employees Duties Help The incumbent performs multiple, varying and complex assignments under the minimal direction of the Team Manager and serves as the Team Lead, providing insight on Instrument Flight Procedure (IFP) program issues. They handle IFP production flow through the Service Center, with focus on project scheduling, ensuring project deadlines are met, reviewing technical documents, day-to-day IFP change requests, and responding to IFP correspondence. Advises the Team Manager in all aspects of program responsibilities, to include but not limited to, scheduling and coordinion with AJV-A and Flight Inspection on IFP projects; acts as the focal point for FPT specialist workflow and project distribution; and ensures compliance with the production pipeline allotment for the Service Area. Performs tasks associed with making and providing IFP Feasibility Determinions. May be required to perform duties as they rele to one or more of the following program areas: Design, development and maintenance of Instrument Flight Procedures (IFPs) and reled publicions; Coordinion and integrion of IFPs in the NAS; Collection and verificion of aeronautical da. Serves as advisor to other FAA Lines of Business on IFP projects for assigned area. Applies experience and comprehensive technical knowledge applicable to his/her discipline, as well as an understanding of new technologies and methodologies, to solve complex problems and develop improved technical processes or systems. Considers the objectives of the major subdivision and LOB/SO when developing, integring, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems. Assignments frequently require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizional lines. Typical assignments may include complex system design and integrion; extensive research and analyses; investigion and inspection activities; compliance and enforcement actions; and direct responsibility for project/program management. Serves as the principle advisor to the Team Manager for large project/work group, team members and provides technical direction and oversight for large-project implemention. Serves as technical specialist with full responsibility for planning, sequencing, directing, and evaluing assigned projects reled to the Nional Airspace System (NAS). Establishes and maintains effective communicions with the aviion industry, airport authorities, FAA offices to include Air Traffic Control, with other affected departments and agencies of governments, both foreign and domestic in an effort to further the understanding, support and coordinion of assigned program responsibilities. Plays a lead role in drafting, reviewing, and editing reports or contractual documents for final approval prior to external distribution. Presents briefings to obtain consensus/approval on policies. Coordines significant technical mters with representives of external organizions. Recommends and qualifies airports for development, amendment, and cancellion of instrument approach procedures. Monitors regional Airspace and Airport space Analysis (AAA) studies to ensure review deadlines are met. Applies knowledge of FAA¿s policies and objectives to identify, define and organize work for multiple work activities. Broad policies and objectives provide general guidance for addressing issues, but allow considerable discretion to develop new and innovive approaches. Draws on experience to solve unusual problems and may cree new solutions and policy interpretions as the situion requires. Experience in development of Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP), working with Instrument Procedures Development Systems (IPDS), Instrument Approach Procedures Automion (IAPA) or Terminal Area Route Generions and Traffic Simulions (TARGETS) Global Procedure Designer (GPD).
