What You'll Do:

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the SHE&S Data Governance Framework across the organization

Establish and maintain data governance policies, standards, procedures, and controls throughout the data lifecycle

Define and monitor data quality standards, governance metrics, and validation controls to ensure SHE&S data is trusted, accurate, and reliable

Lead conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling activities across SHE&S platforms and establish enterprise naming and modelling standards

Review and approve solution data models and support cloud data warehouse, data lake, analytics, and reporting architecture initiatives

Partner with Privacy, Legal, Cyber Security, Risk, and Technology teams to ensure compliance with privacy legislation, security requirements, and corporate policies

Oversee data classification standards, access controls, and governance practices related to confidential and regulated data, including personally identifiable information (PII)

Support audits, compliance assessments, and regulatory reporting activities

Advocate for SHE&S data domain ownership and stewardship by defining responsibilities for Data Owners and Data Stewards

Maintain SHE&S business glossaries, metadata, and data lineage documentation to improve data accountability and discoverability

Promote secure, governed self-service analytics and trusted data products while balancing accessibility, privacy, and compliance requirements

Increase organizational data literacy through governance awareness, education, and collaboration with business stakeholders

Review system and data changes to ensure governance compliance and validate impacts to data models, reporting, integrations, and downstream systems

Participate in change advisory boards and establish governance checkpoints within project delivery lifecycles

Implement and monitor proactive controls for SHE&S data pipelines and integrations, including monitoring for failures, latency, completeness, schema changes, and data quality issues

Drive root cause analysis, remediation activities, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve data reliability and operational performance

Lead and mentor Data Governance Analysts, Data Modellers, and Data Stewards within the SHE&S function

Build strong relationships with business leaders, technical teams, and external partners to support enterprise data management objectives

Manage governance initiatives, roadmaps, budgets, and vendor engagements while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement

What You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, Business, or a related discipline

8+ years' experience in data governance, data architecture, data modelling, or enterprise data management

3+ years leading governance or data management teams

Strong understanding of enterprise data management frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK)

Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure or AWS

Experience with SQL and relational database design

Knowledge of metadata management, master data management, and data catalog solutions

Understanding of privacy regulations and information security principles

Experience with modern analytics platforms such as Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, or similar technologies

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this role, in Deerfield, IL, is between $100,400

  • $157,630 and in Loveland, CO, is between $105,300
  • $165,440.

While we provide this range as general guidance, several factors are taken into consideration when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, candidate skill set, experience and training, licensure and certifications, work location, and other business and organizational needs. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location. We provide an attractive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage, and life insurance and well as disability coverage for positions working more than 30 hours per week. In addition, we have a retirement program that encourages our employees to save for the longer term, with generous matching employer contributions. Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid vacation, sick days and holidays as well as paid personal and maternity/parental leaves and an Employee and Family Assistance Program. Details of the benefits package will be shared in the application process. In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
