The Permit and Data Analyst supports the administration, accuracy, and effectiveness of the department's parking permit programs. This position is primarily responsible for managing permit-related data, developing reports, monitoring permit inventory and usage, and supporting the systems and processes used to issue and track permits. The Permit and Data Analyst will analyze permit sales and utilization trends, maintain accurate system records, identify discrepancies, and provide reliable information to support operational and planning decisions. The position will also coordinate specialized permit processes, including parking lot waitlists, specific permit requests, and Departmental Reserved Spaces. This role works closely with department leadership, customer service, compliance, finance, and other campus partners to ensure permit programs are administered consistently and supported by accurate data. Job Responsibilities Develop and maintain recurring reports related to permit sales, permit inventory, utilization, availability, revenue, waitlists, and other key performance measures. Monitor permit usage and sales trends by permit type, customer group, parking zone, location, and time period. Prepare reports, summaries, and data visualizations for department leadership and other stakeholders. Assist with annual and semester-based permit planning by providing historical data, projections, and comparative analysis. Respond to ad hoc data and reporting requests from department leadership. Verify the accuracy and completeness of data before reports are distributed. Maintain reporting documentation, definitions, and standard procedures to promote consistent use of permit data. (35%) Support the back-end administration of the departments parking permit management system. Maintain permit types, inventories, eligibility rules, sales dates, expiration dates, access settings, and other system configurations as assigned. Review system data regularly to identify duplicate records, incorrect assignments, inventory discrepancies, and other data-quality concerns. Research and resolve permit-related system issues in coordination with internal staff, vendors, and campus technology partners. Assist with system testing before major permit sales periods, configuration changes, upgrades, or implementation of new permit programs. Document system changes, testing results, identified issues, and resolutions. (30%) Administer parking lot waitlists, including reviewing eligibility, tracking requests, monitoring available inventory, and issuing offers based on established procedures. Maintain accurate waitlist records and provide updates or reports regarding demand and placement activity. Coordinate specialized permit requests, including reviewing submissions, confirming eligibility, maintaining documentation, and processing approved requests. Administer Departmental Reserved Spaces by maintaining current records, tracking assignments and renewals, coordinating departmental requests, and monitoring associated inventory. Communicate with customers and campus departments regarding the status, requirements, and outcomes of specialized permit requests. Apply policies and procedures consistently while identifying requests that require management review or approval. (20%) Assist with preparations for annual and semester permit sales, including inventory review, system setup, testing, and post-sale analysis. Identify opportunities to improve reporting, system workflows, data accuracy, and permit administration processes. Develop written procedures, reference materials, and internal training resources related to assigned systems and processes. Participate in departmental projects and perform other related duties as assigned. Cross-train staff on permit reporting and specialized permit procedures as needed. (10%) Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and related experience LSU values skills, experience, and expertise.
