Data Center Technical Program Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Center Technical Program Manager to join a dynamic incubation team in Reno, Nevada. This is a hands-on, tactical role requiring a program manager who can take ownership of complex infrastructure and technology projects, work effectively in ambiguous environments, and drive execution from conception through completion. You will provide daily on-the-ground coordination across engineering, construction, security, logistics, and multiple external vendors, transforming high-level strategic narratives into actionable plans and ensuring seamless project delivery. This is a contract position with a duration of 12+ months. Responsibilities Lead and manage multiple concurrent projects within a dynamic incubation environment, often beginning with high-level concepts and developing them into detailed execution plans. Proactively identify potential risks, challenges, and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies and adapting plans as needed. Navigate and reduce ambiguity by defining clear project scopes, objectives, and deliverables. Drive consensus among diverse stakeholders and translate strategic goals into tangible project outcomes. Provide daily, hands-on coordination and oversight of project activities at the site level, ensuring alignment with project plans and operational protocols. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, security, logistics, and multiple external vendors. Manage and track project timelines, resources, and budgets. Facilitate effective communication between project participants, including daily stand-ups and regular progress updates. Contribute to the development and implementation of physical security protocols, access control systems, and site monitoring solutions. Oversee logistics and execution of equipment move-in/move-out plans and other critical site infrastructure deployments. Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational best practices throughout all project phases. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external vendors, and key stakeholders. Prepare and present regular project updates, reports, and documentation to leadership. Manage and track project-related issues and requests using internal systems. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience. Proven construction project management experience. 5+ years of program management, project management, or similar experience focused on operational or infrastructure projects. Proven ability to lead projects in ambiguous environments from narrative through execution. Experience with hands-on, on-site project coordination involving cross-functional teams and external vendors. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex or vaguely defined assignments, and execute with minimal direction. Strong independent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Preferred Physical security systems, data center operations, or large-scale infrastructure deployment experience. Technology incubation and prototyping experience. Experience with Google tools and systems such as Buganizer, Google Drive, and Smartsheet. Google Workspace experience. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
