Cedarville University invites applicants for the position of Reporting & Systems Manager . This is a full-time, exempt, on-site staff position in the Data and Intelligence Department within the Advancement Division. This position reports to the Senior Director of Data and Intelligence and works 2,080 annual hours. The Reporting & Systems Manager leads the delivery of data and technical solutions that support Advancement operations and decision-making. This role serves as the primary Data & Intelligence resource for Advancement-facing reporting and internal Slate development, translating divisional needs into effective reports, dashboards, workflows, automations, and other system tools. The Manager applies technical expertise and judgment to assigned projects, helping translate Advancement priorities into effective and sustainable solutions within established departmental and institutional standards. This role also contributes to a culture of effective data use across Advancement by developing and sharing guidance, resources, and training that increase Slate proficiency, consistency, and confidence across the team. Essential Functions Reporting, Data Delivery & Insights (40%) Serve as the primary Data & Intelligence resource for Advancement reporting and data delivery requests. Develop and maintain reports, queries, dashboards, and other data products that support fundraising, alumni and parent engagement, communications, events, and divisional decision-making. Consult with Advancement stakeholders to understand business needs and translate requirements into accurate, actionable data outputs. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and effective presentation of data provided to Advancement staff and authorized partners. Identify and implement improvements to recurring data needs through automation, self-service tools, standardized reporting, and other process enhancements. appropriate analytical methods to identify trends and develop insights that support Advancement decision-making. Document technical processes and reporting to support the continuity and maintainability of d team knowledge. Advancement Systems Development & Technical Stewardship (50%) Lead Advancement-facing Slate projects from requirements gathering through implementation and ongoing support, including development of database structures, reports, portals, workflows, automations, and other tools. technical expertise and judgment to recommend and implement effective, scalable, and sustainable solutions within areas of responsibility in accordance with established system and data standards. Design, test, build, and maintain technical processes and structures that support divisional operations and priorities -including prospect management, fundraising activity tracking, and other Development processes in consultation with the Data, Prospects & Partnerships Manager and Development stakeholders. Coordinate with University Information Technology and Slate partners on Advancement projects that require d integrations, permissions, or technical standards. Collaborate with other Data & Intelligence staff to technical knowledge and maintain appropriate coverage of critical Slate capabilities. established user-experience standards when developing internal portals and other user-facing solutions in consultation with the CRM User Experience Manager. Technical Enablement & Collaboration (10%) Provide technical guidance, support, and training to Advancement staff related to reporting and Slate functionality. Develop and maintain documentation, technical resources, and learning materials that contribute to effective Slate use. technical knowledge with other Data & Intelligence staff to strengthen team-wide competency, continuity, and cross-coverage. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field (e.g., data management, computer science, business, information systems), or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with CRM systems, reporting, data management, or database operations; experience with Slate strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain structures, reports, queries, workflows, and other CRM solutions. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and complete projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective data and system solutions. Experience with or willingness to learn statistical modeling concepts; demonstrated ability with Power BI and/or other data presentation tools. Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders, and communicate technical concepts to varied audiences.
