GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Leads Netcare's strategy and execution for business technology, data, reporting, analytics and electronic health record systems. This is a player-coach role that develops and supervises the team while personally delivering high-impact reporting, data integration, EHR optimization, workflow improvement and technology initiatives. The Director's primary customer is the business, and success is measured by secure, reliable systems and measurable improvements in decision-making, efficiency and service delivery.

POSITIONS SUPERVISED

IT Supervisor, IT Support Analyst, and data/reporting staff as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Serves as a member of the senior management team and advises executive leadership on technology, data, analytics, AI, reporting, electronic health records and related risks and opportunities. 2. Partners with department and clinical leaders to translate business needs into a prioritized roadmap for technology, EHR improvement, data, reporting and workflow automation. 3. Develops and executes the enterprise data strategy, including data integration, quality, governance and the ongoing development of a data lake or comparable centralized environment. 4. Personally leads the delivery of executive dashboards, key performance indicators, recurring reports and analytical solutions that improve organizational decision-making. 5. Oversees and governs Netcare's electronic health record as a core clinical and business system, in close coordination with clinical directors and operational leaders. 6. Leads ongoing EHR pain-point assessment, optimization, workflow improvement, vendor management and adoption, including coordination with Netsmart or a successor EHR partner. 7. Establishes a sustainable EHR support model with the staff member serving as primary EHR support analyst, including escalation, change control, documentation, training and accountability. 8. Provides strategic oversight of infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud services, enterprise applications, telecommunications, end-user support and multi-site or remote technology needs. 9. Coaches and develops technology staff, establishes accountability, and empowers operational leads to manage day-to-day support and grow into broader responsibility. 10. Leads major initiatives, vendors and budgets; establishes controls for information security, system access, data quality, privacy, continuity and compliance, including HIPAA and 42 CFR requirements. 11. Leads major technology; and data initiatives, evaluates automation and emerging tools, including architecture, vendor evaluation, budgeting, implementation, change management and adoption. 12. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

1. Ability to operate as a player-coach by setting direction, developing staff and personally producing high-value work when needed. 2. Strong business acumen and ability to translate operational, clinical and executive needs into practical technology, reporting and workflow solutions. 3. Working knowledge of EHR operations, optimization, clinical workflows, vendor management, support governance and change management. 4. Working knowledge of data architecture, integration, quality, governance, data lakes or warehouses, reporting and business intelligence. 5. Broad knowledge of cloud services, networking, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, endpoint management and multi-site environments. 6. Ability to lead complex cross-functional projects, manage competing priorities and drive initiatives to measurable completion. 7. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with executives, clinical directors, managers, technical staff, vendors and end users. 8. Ability to build and supervise a high-performing team and manage budgets, vendors, contracts and operational issues with sound judgment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business or a related field, or substantive equivalent experience. At least five years of progressive technology, data, analytics, electronic health record or enterprise systems experience is required, including management responsibility and staff supervision. Demonstrated success personally delivering cross-functional solutions such as dashboards, data integrations, data lake or warehouse initiatives, workflow improvements, EHR optimization, automation or major system implementations is required. The candidate must combine strong management, business acumen and communication with sufficient technical proficiency to design solutions and contribute directly when needed. Healthcare technology and electronic health record experience are strongly preferred. Experience with Microsoft 365, cloud platforms, business intelligence, data integration, cybersecurity, SaaS, multi-site environments and healthcare privacy or security requirements is preferred.
