Data Manager

We are seeking a Data Manager with deep roots in data management to join our team. This isn't a coding or project management role-it's about bridging the gap between business units and data governance. You will guide division-level stewards to improve data quality, build data dictionaries, and foster a culture of data literacy.

The Essentials Location:

Richmond, VA (Hybrid 3 days a week onsite)

What You'll Be Doing Coach & Guide:

Facilitate monthly check-ins with data stewards to help them document their data and meet enterprise standards.

Build Artifacts:

Assist business teams in creating clear Data Dictionaries, Scoping Documents, and Business Rules.

Improve Quality:

Prepare datasets for quality measurement within our governance tools (Collibra).

Liaison:

Act as the primary link between business divisions and the central Data Program. What We're Looking For The "Human"

Element:

Superior ability to explain technical data concepts to non-technical staff.

Data Expertise:

Strong understanding of Data Management principles and Data Stewardship processes.

Documentation Skills:

Proven experience creating data dictionaries and formalizing business logic.

Tool Proficiency:

Mastery of Excel, SharePoint, and Teams. (Familiarity with Collibra is a major plus!) Key Requirements 8+

Years:

Proficiency with standard productivity tools (Excel/SharePoint). Must be able to work onsite in Richmond, VA, 3 days per week.
