Location:
Dallas, TX Multiple Positions Available:
1. Employ customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer's environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, standard methodologies, project management and risk mitigation. 2. Work closely with AWS Platform Service Engineering and Architecture teams to help ensure the success of project consulting engagements with customer. 3. Work directly with customers' technical resources to devise and recommend solutions based on the understood requirements. 4. Think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment. 5. Analyze onpremises database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, or other Commercial DB Engines to Open Source Engines like Aurora PostgreSQL/MySQL or RedShift, DynamoDB. 6. Work with customers to migrate their database environments to AWS, including but is not limited to Re-Host database platform on AWS, Upgrade/Optimize for AWS, Re-Factor to open source database platform on AWS. 7. Consult for optimal design of database environments, analyzing complex distributed production deployments, and making recommendations to optimize performance. 8. Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems. 9. Domestic travel up to 25% to perform role responsibilities may be required (40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $160285

In the alternative, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline followed by 8 progressively responsible, post baccalaureate years of experience as a database administrator or related occupation.
Experience must include:
(1) 6 years of experience with Oracle, SQL Server, or other commercial/open source database platforms (2) 6 years of experience with migrating mission critical database environments from one platform to another (3) 6 years of experience with working with high availability, disaster recovery and server tuning strategies including parameters, resources, and contention (4) 6 years of experience with Shell, Perl, or Python Scripting #0000 Preferred Qualifications All applicants must meet all the above listed requirements.
