Job Requirements Reston, VA Top Secret/SCI Polygraph Unspecified Career Level not specified Salary not specified Join Premium to unlock estimated salaries Job Description Job Description acuCyber is looking for an Information System Security Specialist to support cybersecurity engineering, testing and evaluation (T&E), and Assessment and Authorization (A&A) activities for information systems. The nformation System Security Specialist will assist with evaluating security controls, maintaining authorization documentation, monitoring system compliance, analyzing vulnerability data, and supporting remediation efforts. The position will use information assurance tools (including eMASS and ACAS) to document system security posture, track findings, and support ongoing authorization and continuous monitoring activities. Required Skills High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate, supplemented by the required practical experience. 2 to 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, T&E, A&A, or a related information assurance field. Practical experience using eMASS, ACAS, or comparable cybersecurity compliance and vulnerability-management tools. Working knowledge of security-control assessment, vulnerability analysis, remediation tracking, and cybersecurity documentation. Ability to analyze technical findings, maintain accurate records, and communicate cybersecurity risks to technical and program stakeholders. Current DoD 8140/8570-aligned cybersecurity certification Active TS/SCI Security Clearance Desired Skills Associate's or Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework, NIST
SP 800-53
security controls, and applicable DoD cybersecurity policies. Experience developing or maintaining A&A artifacts, including system security plans, security assessment reports, plans of action and milestones, and continuous-monitoring documentation. Experience reviewing ACAS scan results, validating vulnerabilities, identifying false positives, and coordinating remediation activities.
