Background in biological resources preferred. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Preparing project graphics; Obtaining special data from a variety of different sources and developing and managing associated databases; Preparing field maps and map-based report graphics; Using ArcGIS Online to prepare field data; Digitizing aerial and hand-drawn images; Processing basic spatial analysis and running statistical calculations; Performing cartographic functions in GIS; Designing, creating, and maintaining geodatabases; Converting and managing CAD files in a GIS environment; Modeling of natural environment and project‐related features based on CAD/GIS base layers to characterize site conditions, complete suitability analyses, and conduct habitat assessments; Transferring data to clients and reviewing agencies; and Coordinating with field staff in downloading, correcting, plotting, and integrating GPS data files into GIS.

Job Requirements/Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in geography, biological resources, planning, computer science, environmental sciences, or related scientific field with a strong emphasis in GIS/AutoCAD or equivalent experience. Strong proficiency in ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Pro, Desktop, Online, and Field Maps; proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and MS Teams. Understanding of cartography and cartographic functions in GIS. Good organizational skills, ability to work on multiple tasks. Positive, flexible, team-oriented approach, with the willingness and desire to work as a part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong time management skills - needs to possess the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Self-motivated with a work ethic that recognizes the importance of punctuality and initiative; detail oriented; and resourceful. Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment. Python or other script writing capabilities preferred. Ability to work hours other than 9-5, if needed Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship. Must have own transportation, valid California Driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance.
