GIS Specialist III Intepros Federal - 3.5 San Francisco, CA Job Details Full-time $80,000 - $120,000 a year 5 hours ago Qualifications Data visualization software proficiency Data visualization projects Full Job Description GIS Specialist III We are seeking an experienced GIS Specialist III to support geospatial analysis and data production for a major regional program. In this role, you will produce maps, data layers, and documented spatial analysis that program staff relies on for operational and environmental decisionmaking. You will transform sampling events, floor plans, imagery, and partneragency data into cartographic products and GIS datasets that meet established data and metadata standards, ensuring program staff can focus on interpretation rather than data cleanup. What You'll Do Develops maps and graphics for presentations, deployments, and technical documents, including products distributed online or embedded in reports as specified by Work Order. Builds GIS and tabular data layers from sponsored and stakeholder sampling events, and develops GIS datasets that supplement web services available from other government departments. Creates indoor mapping products from PDF or CAD floor plans using Esri Indoors, including Indoors Viewer and Space Planner. Produces electronic deliverables such as ArcGIS Projects and Map Services for direct client use. Researches, acquires, and develops digital photography and other remotely sensed products into GIScompatible data layers for map display and spatial query. Researches and develops spatial coordinates for features or events lacking locationspecific attributes. Documents all activities related to data handling, process workflows, digitized data importation, and models used in cartographic work products. Delivers final product data and metadata for incorporation into program databases and backs up electronic files to designated backup directories. Develops datasets in the regional geospatial and nongeospatial data library and contributes holdings to designated data gateway Prepares training materials, handouts, and demonstrations on GIS processes, geospatial tools, GPS, and data collection; delivers instruction remotely or on site, including regional and national events as directed by the COR.
Required Qualifications Education:
BS/BA degree or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of related GIS industry experience (TE 37 band: 4-6 years).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with the Esri suite of GIS products. Current standard platforms include ArcGIS Pro 2.x and ArcGIS Desktop 10.x.
Visualization:
Familiarity with data visualization best practices.
Communication:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Suitability:
Must be eligible to obtain and hold a Tier 4 Public Trust. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Esri Indoors, including Indoors Viewer and Space Planner. Experience with metadata editors or data cataloging tools. Experience with image processing tools such as ERDAS or ENVI. Exposure to environmental subject matter across chemistry, hydrology, toxicology, biology, geography, or geology. Experience delivering instruction, workshops, or training sessions.
