Job DescriptionWe're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented GIS Technician to join our team in Shafter, CA. This role offers a great opportunity for individuals early in their geospatial careers with 1-2 years of experience to join a team supporting large-scale agricultural operations. You'll work alongside experienced GIS professionals to help collect, manage, and map spatial data for our orchards. This is a growth-oriented role with mentorship and training, perfect for candidates looking to develop their GIS skills in a real-world agricultural setting.
Functions include but are not limited to the following. Must be able to move freely between tasks depending on workload, season, etc.
Maintenance of spatial databases and creation of data for crop usage, acreage, plantings, and ranch infrastructure.
Support the creation of maps for internal teams, including field trials, project maps, and operational planning.
Conduct spatial analysis using ArcGIS and help interpret results related to crop production and land use.
Support the collection and quality control of field data using GPS equipment and mobile applications.
Coordinate with farming and operations teams to gather data and provide map-based insights.
Help create user-friendly dashboards and visualizations to present GIS data.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to support the GIS and Operations teams.

EDUCATION and/or
Familiarity with ArcGIS Desktop and other ESRI toolsProficiency with Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook] or similar software suite
Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn data management best practices.
This position involves both office and field work; candidates should be comfortable walking in orchards or uneven terrain and working outdoors during various weather conditions.

Pay Range:
$30- $40/ Hour and may include a discretionary bonus.

EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Associate or bachelor's degree (completed or in progress or equivalent work experience) in Geography, Environmental Science, Agriculture, GIS, or a related field.1-2 years of experience in a technical geospatial role.Familiarity with ArcGIS Desktop and other ESRI toolsProficiency with Microsoft Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook] or similar software suite
SPECIFIC KNOWELDGE, AND SKILLS
Interest in working with GPS units and mobile data collection tools.Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn data management best practices.
This position involves both office and field work; candidates should be comfortable walking in orchards or uneven terrain and working outdoors during various weather conditions.
