Job Description
Job Summary The Mapping Specialist supports the design of FyberCom's fiber network. This position assists in design, drafting, and building pre-design maps for final review by Engineering, and spends 75%+ of their time building new maps and working directly with Construction leadership, the Finance Department, and Engineering. The role also maintains company network maps and records, updates fiber and infrastructure data in mapping systems, and helps ensure network information stays accurate. No advanced GIS experience is required; training will be provided. Candidates with directly related experience may be considered for compensation above the posted range. Essential Duties Assist in design and drafting — build pre-design maps for final review by Engineers. Spend 75%+ of time building new maps for upcoming fiber builds. Work directly with Construction leadership, the Finance Department, and Engineering on map-driven project planning. Update and maintain network maps and records. Enter fiber, customer, and infrastructure data into mapping software. Review work orders and construction documentation for accuracy. Track network changes and document updates. Assist with locating and identifying network assets. Communicate with engineering and field teams regarding mapping corrections. Generate basic reports as needed. Maintain organized electronic records and files. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to learn new software and processes. Good communication skills. GIS, CAD, or telecommunications experience is a plus but not required.
