The GIS Engineering Technician, under the general supervision of a Supervisory Engineer, bridges the gap between engineering records, field conditions and spatial data. This role maintains and analyzes the City's GIS database and may create engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The GIS Engineering Technician also oversees records database maintenance. The Senior GIS Engineering Technician, under the general supervision of a Supervisory Engineer, bridges the gap between engineering records, field conditions and spatial data. This role builds, maintains, and analyzes the City's GIS database and may create engineering plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D. The Senior Engineering Technician also oversees records database maintenance.
Job Scope:
The GIS Engineering Technician has no direct budgetary responsibilities except as they pertain to any Capital Improvement Projects with which the GIS Engineering Technician is involved. The GIS Engineering Technician has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in drafting, civil engineering, construction management or closely related field Minimum (1) one to (3) three years of experience in civil engineering field related to streets, storm sewers, water lines, sewer lines, traffic, construction management, or surveying. Valid driver's license required. •Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Pay range:
$24.61-$31.52 per hour
Job Scope:
The Senior GIS Engineering Technician has no direct budgetary responsibilities except as they pertain to any Capital Improvement Projects with which the Senior Engineering Technician is involved. The Senior GIS Engineering Technician has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however; the employee is expected to give guidance and assistance to less experienced technicians.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in drafting, civil engineering, construction management or closely related field Minimum (5) five years of experience in civil engineering field related to streets, storm sewers, water lines, sewer lines, traffic, construction management, or surveying. Valid driver's license required. •Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Pay range:
$26.74-$34.23 per hour
