About the job GIS Engineer Onsite - Detroit, MI 48226 | Full-time/Contract Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will develop geospatial technologies, produce databases, perform applications programming, and coordinate projects, particularly in urban planning and the water/wastewater sector. Duties Support the definition, documentation, and review of requirements, system-level architecture, and product roadmap planning. Design, implement, test, debug, integrate, deploy, and monitor integrations/updates with CityWorks and Innovyze software. Develop and manage Web GIS platforms for real-time data ingestion, big data storage, and spatial analysis. Assist enhancing operational intelligence through real-time monitoring of customer service touchpoints, spatial analysis of big data, rapid prioritization and response to customer demands, automated executive reporting, and proactive service management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field. Experience in GIS engineering. Proven experience with Web GIS platforms for real-time and near real-time big data spatial analysis. Familiarity with GPS technology and its application within GIS projects is preferred. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex spatial data effectively. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Project management experience is a plus, demonstrating the ability to manage timelines and deliverables effectively.
