Job Description
This position performs routine mapping work and research in support of City water, sewer, storm drainage and road projects; and performs related work as assigned. The incumbent works within a general outline of work to be performed, and develops work methods and sequences under general supervision. The work is considered light in nature and involves walking or standing much of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a recurring basis, or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of mechanical or electronic office or shop machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy. The work requires the following physical abilities to perform the essential job functions: balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, fingering, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Work environment involves exposure to no known environmental hazards; and is dynamic that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs. Researches and interprets engineering drawings for computer entry and Cityworks WO creation; Performs basic attribute maintenance and quality control to utility features and related tables, as required; Performs routine mapping work in support of City water, sewer, stormwater drainage and road projects; Prepares project location maps and other basic maps for Engineering Projects; Duplicates maps for employee and customer use; Documents and logs backlogged utility engineering plans for completeness;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO PERFORM WORK
Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, engineering, urban planning, computer science or a closely related field OR Associates degree with 2+ years of prior experience Valid South Carolina Class "D" Driver's License. Pay Grade will be dependent upon education and/or work experience: Level Pay Grade Qualifications Salary Range Digital Data Technician I 111 Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, engineering, urban planning, computer science or a closely related field OR Associates degree with 2+ years of prior experience $49,720.00- $63,393.00 Digital Data Technician II 112 Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, engineering, urban planning, computer science or a closely related field with 2+ years of experience; or Associates degree with 4+ years of experience $53,449.00
