WHAT THE LJA INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE HAS TO OFFER
Our Summer Internship Program runs from mid-May through the first week of August and is a fully in-person experience, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. As an LJA intern, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real-world projects. As an Intern at LJA in our Public Works department, you will have strengths in analyzing spatial datasets using modern Esri web and desktop applications. This individual may perform a wide range of water and wastewater-related tasks, including data editing, analysis, map production, field inspections, and GNSS data collection. The ideal candidate will have a variety of GIS-related skills for both desktop and mobile applications.A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE
Mapping of LJA projects into a GIS-managed database Field Work Performing Data Collection and Utility Inspections Exhibit Map Preparation Data Entry Database ManagementREQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled in GIS courses and working towards a Bachelor's degree or recently graduatedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Good work ethic and punctuality Strong communication skills Highly organized and detailed orientedIDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE
Working experience in ArcGIS Pro and/or QGIS is preferredLEVEL UP WITH LJA
