Job Description

Hourly Rate:
$19.31 Job description statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this job title. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required. This is an entry-level technical, part-time position. An individual in this position will be responsible for assisting the GIS Division with daily requests, data entry, review, and data collection. Edit and manage GIS data layers in a multiuser geodatabase. Add/Correct the data tabular information Create maps, charts, and diagrams for the requests. Review, audit, and clean up GIS data for accuracy. Digitize/Collect other data as needed for city infrastructure data. Other related duties as assigned Possibility of field work with GPS equipment Current master's level or undergraduate student with at least one year of relevant coursework and applied experience. Self-motivated problem solver capable of working as part of a team.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop/ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online. Valid driver's license required. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental Director or his/her designee within two working days of receipt. Strong written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Attention to detail. Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong customer service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Work is primarily performed in climate-controlled office environment. Physical demands are sedentary in nature with prolonged sitting. Work causes fatigue of eyes, fingers or other facilities because of fairly continuous use of motor senses.
