Job Description

Description Overview SAIC is hiring a Database Engineer to design and implement enterprise geospatial database solutions supporting mission‑critical applications. You will guide customers through data management strategies and implement secure, scalable environments. Responsibilities Design and implement secure, high‑availability database solutions. Collaborate across the entire implementation lifecycle. Configure and maintain enterprise DB environments (backup, restore, HA/DR). Monitor performance and tune databases (query optimization, indexing). Implement security controls and compliance standards. Automate routine tasks for efficiency. Provide technical guidance for migrations, integrations, and enterprise architectures. Qualifications Required Qualifications Active TS/SCI is required to be considered for this role. Willing and able to pass a polygraph. 5+ years of hands‑on database design/administration for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or
SAP HANA.
Experience with loading strategies, backup/recovery, performance tuning, security. SQL and Python scripting experience. Knowledge of Linux/Unix/Windows. Exposure to geospatial concepts (spatial data types, indexing, coordinate systems). Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly. Bachelor's in CS, Math, GIS, or STEM. Desired Qualifications Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise geodatabases. Security+ certification. Knowledge integrating GIS with enterprise systems. Industry certifications (Esri, CompTIA, Microsoft, Amazon, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
Target salary range:
$160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
