This role will oversee daily IT operations, maintain company systems and networks, and support a variety of technology initiatives across our domestic and international projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable managing a broad range of technical, operational, and compliance-related responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. What you'll be doing:
- Own and manage Fluid Solutions' day-to-day IT operations, including computers, servers, networks, cloud services, software, and other technology systems.
- Serve as the primary internal resource for IT issues, troubleshooting problems directly and coordinating with outside vendors or specialists when needed.
- Own Fluid's cybersecurity program, including endpoint protection, access controls, multifactor authentication (MFA), patching, backups, security policies, employee security practices, and incident response.
- Own Fluid's CMMC compliance program, including achieving and maintaining CMMC Level 1 requirements now and leading the company's preparation and implementation efforts toward CMMC Level 2, with outside support as needed.
- Manage network and internet infrastructure, including connectivity, firewalls, Wi-Fi, remote access, redundancy and failover, and coordination with internet and network vendors.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, devices, and system access throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding.
- Administer Fluid's Claris FileMaker database environment, including users, permissions, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, backups, data integrity, and coordination with outside developers when needed.
- For candidates with FileMaker development experience, support or lead FileMaker scripting, programming, workflow improvements, integrations, layouts, and application modifications. This is a significant plus, but it is not required for the position and may warrant additional compensation.
- Manage company IT assets, software licenses, technology purchasing, equipment standards, and hardware replacement and retirement cycles.
- Maintain IT documentation, system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), cybersecurity policies, and compliance records.
- Manage and coordinate Fluid's outside technology vendors, including cybersecurity, software, telecommunications, internet, and specialized IT support providers.
- Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures, and periodically test that critical systems and data can be restored.
- Support the IT and cybersecurity requirements associated with Fluid's government and international work, coordinating with the Facility Security Officer (FSO) and Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) as needed.
- Evaluate new technology and recommend improvements that increase security, reliability, efficiency, or scalability as Fluid continues to grow. What you'll need:
- 5+ years of hands-on IT experience, preferably in a small-to-mid-sized organization or similarly broad, hands-on environment.
- Very comfortable with macOS and iOS systems, including setup, troubleshooting, security, and integration with enterprise tools.
- Strong understanding of Windows environments, network administration, cloud services, identity and access management, and data security.
- Demonstrated experience owning day-to-day IT operations, supporting users, and managing outside technology vendors.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity controls, incident response, backup and recovery, and business continuity practices.
- CMMC and
NIST SP 800-171
experience strongly preferred, particularly experience implementing, documenting, or maintaining required security controls.- Experience administering business-critical databases or applications; direct Claris FileMaker administration experience is expected and strongly preferred.
- Claris FileMaker development experience—including scripting, layouts, integrations, workflow changes, and application modification—is a significant plus and may warrant additional compensation, but is not required.
- Experience managing IT assets, software licensing, technology purchasing, system access, and employee onboarding and offboarding.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting government-contracting, facility-security, export-controlled, or international business environments is a plus. What's in it for you?
