$80K We are looking for an experienced, hands-on IT Manager to take full ownership of AMPCO's IT operations. This is NOT an entry-level role: you must come in with proven experience managing a Microsoft 365 / Entra ID (Azure AD) environment and a distributed Windows endpoint fleet, and be able to get up to speed on our systems quickly with minimal hand-holding. You will be the go-to person for everything IT from user support and device management to security hardening, vendor coordination, and infrastructure planning. Key Responsibilities Systems & Infrastructure Administration Administer and maintain our Microsoft 365 tenant, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID (Azure AD) identity management Manage user account lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, licensing, group memberships, and access permissions across cloud and local systems Own endpoint management for the company's Windows laptop and desktop fleet across the offices and remote/field locations, including device enrollment, imaging, patching, and configuration (Intune/MDM experience strongly preferred) Plan and execute hardware lifecycle management — track device age and end-of-life status, manage replacements of legacy Windows 10 machines, and maintain an accurate asset inventory Security & Compliance Enforce least-privilege access: audit and remediate local administrator rights, remove stale or unauthorized accounts, and review group memberships on a recurring schedule Implement and maintain security baselines: MFA enforcement, conditional access policies, endpoint protection, and OS/software patching Act on findings from network and security assessments, tracking remediation items through to completion Maintain backup and recovery procedures for critical business data and systems Support & Operations Serve as first and primary point of contact for all employee IT support requests (office and field staff), resolving hardware, software, connectivity, and account issues promptly Support a bilingual workforce; ability to support Spanish-language users and Spanish-configured systems is a plus Manage relationships with external IT vendors, MSPs, ISPs, and software providers; review contracts, quotes, and renewals Maintain network infrastructure at the office (firewall, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN/remote access) Planning & Improvement Document systems, processes, and configurations so the environment is maintainable and auditable Recommend and implement improvements to reliability, security, and efficiency as the company grows Manage the IT budget, including hardware refresh planning and software licensing Required Qualifications 3+ years of hands-on IT administration experience, with at least 2 years owning IT for a small-to-mid-sized business (or equivalent responsibility) Deep, current experience with Microsoft 365 administration and Entra ID / Azure AD, including hybrid identity scenarios Strong Windows 10/11 endpoint management experience; Microsoft Intune or comparable MDM experience strongly preferred Demonstrated experience with security hardening: access reviews, local admin cleanup, MFA, conditional access, and endpoint protection Proven ability to ramp up quickly in an existing environment — you can read an assessment, map the environment, and start executing within your first weeks Excellent troubleshooting skills and a service-oriented mindset for supporting non-technical staff Strong documentation and communication skills Ability to work on-site with occasional travel to field/remote locations Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting construction, contracting, field services, or other distributed/deskless workforces Bilingual (English/Spanish) Relevant certifications: Microsoft (MS-102, AZ-104, MD-102), CompTIA Security+/Network+, or similar Experience managing MSP relationships or transitioning from an MSP to in-house IT Familiarity with construction industry software (project management, estimating, timekeeping platforms) How to Apply Submit your resume and a brief note describing a Microsoft 365 / endpoint environment you've owned end-to-end to [email/contact].
