IT Manager Position Type:

The ideal candidate will be a creative, detail-oriented, self-driven engineer who takes strong ownership of their work, makes sound technical decisions, and can lead products from early-stage concept through design validation and production launch. Job Summary The IT Manager is Onanon's on-site technology leader and is responsible for the strategy, security, reliability, and day-to-day execution of the company's IT function across its Milpitas, California and Hermosillo, Mexico operations. This hands-on role supports approximately 200 users and combines infrastructure and cybersecurity leadership with systems administration, end-user support, vendor management, business continuity, and technology planning. The position partners with Amphenol corporate IT and business leaders to protect company information, improve operational performance, and ensure that technology services meet the needs of a regulated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities IT Strategy and Leadership Develop and execute the IT strategy, roadmap, standards, and operating priorities in alignment with business needs and Amphenol corporate IT requirements. Serve as the primary IT advisor to the General Manager and leadership team, translating technology risks, options, costs, and business impacts into clear recommendations. Manage the IT budget, capital planning, software licensing, asset lifecycle, vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level performance. Evaluate emerging technologies and prepare business cases and cost-benefit analyses for upgrades, replacements, and new capabilities. Lead technology projects from requirements and vendor selection through implementation, testing, training, adoption, and post-implementation support. Administer the company's ERP system, including managing user accounts, roles, access permissions, and related security controls. Infrastructure and Operations Administer and maintain LAN and WAN environments, firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPN services, servers, cloud services, email, file and print services, and related infrastructure across both sites. Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID, identity and access permissions, endpoint management, Microsoft 365 services, and role-based access controls. Own the full technology lifecycle for laptops, desktops, servers, mobile devices, applications, and other hardware, including procurement, configuration, deployment, patching, inventory, maintenance, and secure retirement. Monitor availability, capacity, performance, and system health; troubleshoot complex hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues and provide or oversee responsive end-user support. Maintain accurate documentation for infrastructure, systems, configurations, licenses, vendors, assets, procedures, and recovery plans. Coordinate IT support for the Hermosillo operation and travel to Mexico periodically to address business and technology needs. Cybersecurity Data Protection and Compliance Own the site cybersecurity program, including risk assessments, security roadmaps, endpoint protection, network security, vulnerability and patch management, email and phishing defenses, security monitoring, and incident response. Apply recognized cybersecurity frameworks and controls, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls, in a manner appropriate to the company's risk profile and corporate standards. Develop, test, and maintain incident response, disaster recovery, business continuity, backup, and restoration procedures. Safeguard sensitive business, customer, employee, engineering, and production information and support internal and external security and compliance audits. Support applicable privacy, contractual, and regulatory requirements, including ITAR and export-control awareness and relevant data privacy obligations. Deliver periodic cybersecurity awareness training and promote secure technology practices across the user population. Artificial Intelligence Governance Develop and maintain policies and practical guidance for the responsible use of artificial intelligence tools, including acceptable use, data classification, confidentiality, access, retention, and vendor review. Assess and manage shadow-AI and data-leakage risks and ensure AI-related data handling aligns with company policies, customer obligations, and applicable requirements. Monitor emerging AI capabilities, risks, and regulatory developments and recommend updates to governance practices and employee training. Business Partnership and Service Delivery Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Human Resources, Sales, and other functions to improve productivity, scalability, data quality, and business resilience through technology. Train employees on systems, hardware, software, cybersecurity, and AI-use requirements and create clear user documentation when needed. Manage external service providers and strategic technology partners and hold vendors accountable for service quality, security, value, and timely resolution of issues. Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations and evolving technology needs. Required Skills / Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related field; an equivalent combination of relevant education and substantial experience may be considered. Seven or more years of progressive IT experience, including at least three years in an IT management, infrastructure lead, or senior technical leadership role. Demonstrated experience supporting multi-site infrastructure and business operations; experience in manufacturing, medical-device, aerospace, defense, automotive, or another regulated environment is strongly preferred. Advanced working knowledge of enterprise networking, firewalls, VPN, Wi-Fi, Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Entra ID, endpoint management, backup and recovery, and systems monitoring. Hands-on experience implementing and administering cybersecurity controls, conducting risk assessments, managing vulnerabilities, and coordinating incident response. Experience managing IT budgets, projects, software licensing, hardware lifecycle, vendors, and managed service providers. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, project-management, and documentation skills, with the ability to balance urgent operational needs and long-term priorities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical risks and recommendations to executives, business leaders, technical partners, and end users. Valid passport and ability to travel internationally, including occasional travel to Hermosillo, Mexico. Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience with ITAR or export-controlled environments, ISO 13485, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls, SOC 2, CMMC, or comparable security and compliance frameworks. Experience supporting production systems and geographically distributed teams in the United States and Mexico. Professional proficiency in Spanish. Preferred Certifications One or more of the following certifications is preferred. Equivalent current certifications demonstrating comparable expertise may also be considered: CISSP or CISM for cybersecurity leadership and risk management. CompTIA Security+ for foundational security competency; CASP+ or SecurityX for advanced security practice. Microsoft Certified credentials relevant to Azure, Microsoft 365, identity, security, or endpoint administration. Cisco CCNA or CCNP, or an equivalent networking certification. ITIL 4 Foundation or higher for IT service management. PMP or comparable project-management certification. Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work on site in Milpitas and provide support outside normal business hours when required for critical incidents, maintenance, or business continuity. Ability to sit, stand, use a computer, and perform hands-on installation and troubleshooting for extended periods. Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to travel periodically to the Hermosillo, Mexico site and other business locations as needed.
