Job Description

JOB San Bernardino County Fire Protection District is recruiting for an innovative and dynamic Information Technology Manager , to develop information technology strategies while managing the staff and operation of the Information Technology Division of the Fire District. The Information Technology Manager is responsible for managing multiple sections of the Information Technology Division for the Fire District. Oversight of the division includes support for multiple midrange servers, database administration, network administration, applications support, systems operations, communications, data/GIS, help desk and PC technical support in addition to managing the division budget and interfacing with internal management, state agencies, federal and regulatory agencies, other county departments and vendors. The Information Technology Manager will be tasked with defining clear goals and objectives, as well as identifying business needs and solutions. MOU CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process:
Applicants must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, and/or medical exam, prior to appointment.
Travel:
Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
At-Will Status:
This is an exempt position. Individuals in the Exempt group are Unclassified, do not attain regular status, and serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.
Sponsorship:
San Bernardino County is unable to consider to candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a closely related field. -
AND- Experience:
Five (5) years of full-scope supervisory experience for a team of IT professionals with responsibility for overseeing technology-related services, operations, projects, and development and assessment of business application/systems. Qualifying degrees must be completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied with an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.
