Job Description
Position OverviewThe IT Manager will lead the planning, deployment, and continuous improvement of IT and business systems that support manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing the organizations ERP (with emphasis on Epicor Kinetic), driving system upgrades and integrations, developing the technology roadmap, and aligning IT initiatives with operational and financial objectives. The ideal candidate combines hands-on ERP and integration experience with strong leadership and project management skills within a manufacturing environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the IT and business systems strategy and roadmap to support manufacturing, operations, and finance objectives.
Manage day-to-day administration, configuration, and performance of the ERP system (Epicor Kinetic preferred), including upgrades, patching, and release planning.
Lead ERP upgrade projects and implement new functionality while minimizing production downtime and business disruption.
Design and oversee integrations between ERP and other systems (MES, WMS, CRM, BI tools, PLC/OT systems) using APIs, middleware, and ETL processes.
Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, QA, and finance stakeholders to evaluate processes, identify improvements, and implement system-driven solutions.
Manage cross-functional implementation projects, including scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, testing, and change management.
Provide technical leadership to internal IT staff and external vendors; manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level expectations.
Ensure system availability, incident response, backup/recovery procedures, and business continuity related to business systems.
Establish data governance, security controls, and reporting standards for master data, transactional data, and business intelligence.
Develop training materials, deliver end-user training, and promote system adoption and best practices across the organization.
Evaluate new technologies and third-party solutions; provide recommendations to leadership and drive proof-of-concepts as needed.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).7+ years of IT experience with at least 3 years managing ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with Epicor (Kinetic) or comparable ERP platforms, including upgrades and module configuration.
Proven experience integrating ERP with
Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional upgrade and implementation projects; PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
Solid understanding of manufacturing processes (MRP/production planning), supply chain, and shop-floor systems.
Technical skills including SQL, scripting, integration technologies, and familiarity with cloud and on-premise architectures.
Experience managing IT teams, vendors, budgets, and service delivery in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change management skills.
Knowledge of information security, data governance, backup/recovery, and compliance standards relevant to manufacturing operations.
Willingness to travel to manufacturing sites and vendor locations as required.
