Pileum is seeking candidates for a full-time IT Director position in Clinton, MS. This position is being advertised by Pileum Corporation on behalf of a client. Pileum Corporation is managing the initial candidate evaluation and screening process for this opportunity. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Planning Develop and execute a multi-year district technology plan aligned with instructional and operational goals Establish vision, priorities, and measurable outcomes for technology across schools and departments Provide executive-level recommendations to district leadership on technology investments, risks, and opportunities IT Operations & Infrastructure Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all district technology systems, including networks, servers, endpoints, and cloud services Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of critical systems Standardize hardware, software, and systems to improve efficiency, security, and supportability Cybersecurity & Risk Management Lead the district's cybersecurity program, including risk assessments, audits, and incident response Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, state requirements, and industry best practices Oversee data protection, access controls, and disaster recovery / business continuity planning Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop technology staff, including hiring, evaluation, and professional growth Establish clear roles, accountability, and service expectations across the IT team Foster a service-oriented culture focused on responsiveness and continous improvement Budgeting & Resource Management Develop and manage the technology budget, including forecasting and long-term planning Oversee procurement of hardware, software, and services Ensure effective lifecycle management of all technology assets Instructional Technology & Assessment Support Partner with curriculum and instructional leaders to support effective use of technology in the classroom Oversee implementation and readiness of state testing platforms and required technologies Ensure student devices and systems meet all technical requirements for assessments Programs, Compliance & Partnerships Administer the district's E-Rate program and applicable technology grants Maintain compliance with state and federal technology requirements Serve as primary liaison to state education agencies and external partners Communication & Stakeholder Engagement Communicate technology plans, initiatives, and system status to district leadership and stakeholders Collaborate with school administrators and staff to align technology services with user needs Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or management responsibilities Demonstrated experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure, networking, and systems Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and risk management Experience managing vendors, budgets, and technology projects Preferred Qualifications Experience in a K-12 or public-sector environment Familiarity with E-Rate and education-related compliance requirements Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, or similar) Experience supporting instructional technology and student assessment platforms Key Traits for Success Strategic thinker who can translate vision into execution Strong communicator able to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Decisive leader with a focus on accountability and results Service-oriented mindset with a commitment to supporting students and educators
