Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on IT leader to support and strengthen technology operations for an education/ non profit client near Hoboken, NJ. This contract to hire role is ideal for someone with prior education or non profit industry experience who can balance day-to-day technical troubleshooting with broader oversight of systems, vendors, and a small support team. The role requires a strong service mindset, the ability to communicate effectively with faculty, parents, and school leadership, and the confidence to guide infrastructure-related initiatives while remaining actively involved in technical work.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct technical support for staff and school users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
- Oversee daily IT operations while leading and mentoring a small technology team to ensure dependable service delivery.
- Administer core systems such as Active Directory and device configurations to maintain secure and efficient user access.
- Coordinate with external vendors and infrastructure partners to support network performance, backups, and broader technology needs.
- Manage school technology platforms, including an ERP, and help ensure systems are aligned with operational requirements.
- Track, prioritize, and follow through on support requests using the existing ticketing process to maintain responsiveness and visibility.
- Support the maintenance and improvement of network, server, and endpoint environments across the campus.
- Communicate clearly with teachers, parents, and school administrators regarding technical issues, priorities, and solutions.
