90-110k About the Opportunity A well-established, privately held company with an integrated sales, production, and fulfillment operation is seeking a hands-on, strategic IT & Systems Manager to take ownership of its technology environment and help drive its next stage of growth. This is a highly visible, hands-on position for an IT professional who enjoys balancing day-to-day technical troubleshooting with longer-term technology strategy, systems integration, and process improvement. The ideal candidate will be someone who can understand the full technology ecosystem, identify inefficiencies or data issues, implement practical solutions, and help employees successfully adopt new technology. Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy & Roadmap Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute a technology strategy aligned with business growth and operational efficiency. Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technology, tools, and integrations. Maintain a clean, reliable, and well-integrated technology ecosystem. Identify opportunities to improve data integrity, workflow efficiency, and system performance. Systems & Infrastructure Management Oversee day-to-day IT operations, including employee computers, hardware, networking, servers, peripherals, and facility technology. Manage domain, email, and productivity environments, including Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Oversee the company's Managed Service Provider (MSP), particularly around cybersecurity and ransomware protection. Hold outside technology partners accountable for service levels and escalate issues when necessary. Support and maintain custom business applications and software integrations. Troubleshoot technology issues quickly, particularly when they affect business or production operations. Business Systems & Implementation Support the implementation and ongoing development of a new industry-specific business management platform. Manage integrations between core business systems, ERP, CRM, and operational applications. Maintain and improve workflows, data structures, permissions, and system configurations. Work with department leaders to understand existing processes and identify opportunities for redesign and improvement. Ensure systems and data remain aligned as the organization evolves. Production Technology & Infrastructure Support technology connecting business systems with production equipment and operational workflows. Manage production workstations, print servers, shared folders, hot folders, barcode systems, label printers, and related equipment. Ensure reliable movement of files between creative, production, and operational teams. Maintain appropriate permissions, naming standards, backups, and version control. Administer and improve barcode and label automation workflows, including templates, data connections, print triggers, and printer assignments. Support a mixed Windows and macOS environment. Diagnose issues across workstations, networks, shared storage, software, drivers, print queues, and connected production equipment. Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and outside vendors when specialized technical support is required. Document critical systems, configurations, dependencies, licenses, vendor contacts, and recovery procedures. Develop appropriate redundancy and recovery plans for production-critical technology. Change Management & User Adoption Develop training materials and implementation plans for new technology. Partner with leadership to help employees successfully transition to new systems and processes. Provide hands-on coaching and support during technology rollouts. Promote technology adoption, process improvement, and continuous learning throughout the organization. Technology Environment The successful candidate will work across a diverse technology environment that includes: Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 Domain and email infrastructure Barcode and label automation systems Thermal-transfer and barcode printers Windows and macOS environments Production networks and shared storage Servers/NAS, shared folders, hot folders, print queues, and backup systems Production printing and imaging technology Industry-specific business management/ERP software ERP and CRM integrations Custom PHP-based business applications GitHub/code repositories Managed Service Provider (MSP) relationships Cybersecurity and ransomware protection systems Qualifications 5+ years of IT experience, including both hands-on technical responsibilities and technology leadership. Experience supporting technology within a production, manufacturing, warehouse, print, or other operational environment where system downtime can directly affect business output. Strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, wired and wireless connectivity, static device addressing, and network-connected equipment. Strong experience administering Google Workspace and Microsoft 365. Experience with domain and email server management. Hands-on hardware and endpoint troubleshooting experience. Experience managing shared storage, file permissions, print servers, hot-folder workflows, backups, and cross-platform file access. Familiarity with barcode and label-printing systems is strongly preferred. Experience with BarTender Automation, SATO, Wasp, Zebra, or comparable technologies is a plus. Experience with an ERP system such as NetSuite is a plus. CRM experience, particularly with platforms such as HubSpot, is a plus. Comfortable working with PHP and GitHub. You do not need to be a developer, but you should be able to read code, collaborate with developers, and responsibly manage a codebase. Experience managing or working alongside an MSP and the ability to critically evaluate their work. Strong understanding of data hygiene and system integrations. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Experience troubleshooting production software, printer drivers, queues, output workflows, and the connections between applications, workstations, networks, and production equipment.
