Job Description

About the Role Smile Loft Dental, LLC is looking for a full-time, in-house IT professional to join our corporate office as the single point of contact for all company IT needs — across our dental office locations and corporate/overseas support functions. We're bringing critical IT functions in-house that are currently handled by a third-party managed service provider (MSP). This is a chance to build and own a complete, single-source IT operation — covering everything from servers and security to hardware procurement and helpdesk support — rather than being one voice among many at an outsourced vendor. What You'll Do Deploy, configure, and maintain on-premise and virtual servers (Windows Server 2022, VMs) Set up and manage remote access solutions for overseas and remote/office staff (RDS, Splashtop, VPN) Provide network administration across all company offices, including network setup, VLAN segmentation, and staff/guest Wi-Fi Install and manage the full security stack: firewalls, gateway security, intrusion prevention, EDR, antivirus, patch management, ransomware detection, email/content filtering, DMARC, and MFA Own backup and disaster recovery (BDR), including local and cloud backups and regular verification Manage networking hardware (Unifi/UDM-Pro or equivalent firewalls, switches, access points) Handle end-to-end procurement, installation, and setup of computers, workstations, servers, and networking hardware — no outside vendors for standard hardware refreshes Troubleshoot, repair, and replace hardware (workstations, printers, scanners, networking equipment) Install, license, and support software including Microsoft 365/Office, practice management systems, and other line-of-business applications Manage user accounts, domain environment, groups, and permissions org-wide Serve as the escalation point for office-level IT issues, with travel to locations as needed for hands-on support Maintain IT documentation, asset inventory, and vendor/license records Evaluate and recommend new IT tools and processes to improve efficiency, security, and cost Provide after-hours/emergency support as needed Full IT Ownership This role fully replaces our outsourced MSP arrangement. Unlike a fixed-fee vendor model that excludes hardware and extra service work, this role owns the complete IT lifecycle in-house, including: Hardware and software procurement, installation, and replacement Server and network deployment and maintenance Remote access setup for overseas and remote staff Security stack management (firewall, endpoint protection, backup/DR) Day-to-day helpdesk support for all offices IT strategy, budgeting input, and vendor management (internet, licensing, cloud services) HIPAA-compliant management of India-based remote team members using personal devices — deploying endpoint security, MFA, encryption, VPN/remote access controls, monitoring, and device compliance policies What We're Looking For 3+ years of hands-on IT support, network administration, or systems administration experience, ideally across multiple office locations Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, domain environments, and Active Directory Experience with remote access tools (RDS, Splashtop, VPN) and supporting a remote workforce Experience with network hardware and security (firewalls, VLANs, Unifi or similar) Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam or similar) Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and licensing Hands-on hardware troubleshooting and replacement experience Healthcare/dental office IT experience is a strong plus, including familiarity with practice management software and
HIPAA Required:
knowledge of securing and managing remote/BYOD environments — endpoint protection, encryption, VPN, and access controls for offshore/remote staff on personal devices — to ensure HIPAA compliance Strong communication skills; comfortable working directly with clinical and administrative staff at all levels Willingness to travel between office locations and be available for after-hours emergencies
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
Work Location:
