Since 1980, NDRI has supported scientific discovery and medical innovation through collaboration with leading healthcare, research, tissue recovery partners and the global scientific community. Summary Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration, the Information Technology Manager leads NDRI's technology strategy and oversees infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, data protection, and emerging technologies, including responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI). The role ensures reliable daily operations, manages service providers and helpdesk support, strengthens disaster recovery and business continuity, and implements secure, scalable technology solutions that support NDRI's mission and evolving needs. The Information Technology Manager maintains effective communication with external service providers and collaborates with internal management to provide regular updates, promote transparency, and coordinate IT priorities and operations. Essential Responsibilities IT Operations and Infrastructure
  • Manage and maintain organizational hardware, software, networks, cloud platforms, email, file storage, collaboration tools, and business applications.
  • Coordinate with the managed service provider to ensure responsive technical support, effective troubleshooting, and appropriate issue prioritization for staff, providing direct assistance or escalation when needed.
  • Configure, deploy, upgrade, and maintain laptops, workstations, and related technology equipment.
  • Oversee external helpdesk services, monitor service quality, and escalate unresolved or high-impact issues.
  • Monitor the availability, performance, capacity, and lifecycle of critical systems, working with service providers to address recurring issues and plan upgrades or replacements before they disrupt operations.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding through timely equipment setup, access provisioning, account changes, and access removal.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventory and oversee equipment assignment, maintenance, replacement, and disposal.
  • Manage IT vendors, service providers, consultants, contracts, and service performance to ensure cost-effective and reliable support.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Train staff on technology tools, cybersecurity awareness, and practices that support secure and effective technology use. Cybersecurity and Data Protection
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices, including user access controls, backups, and data protection.
  • Develop, deliver, and track annual network security training programs, including phishing awareness and safe data handling.
  • Coordinate and manage network penetration testing and work with stakeholders and vendors to remediate findings.
  • Monitor systems for security risks and coordinate incident response.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable data privacy and security requirements relevant to nonprofit operations.
  • Develop, maintain, and test the organization's disaster recovery and business continuity plan for technology systems. Strategic Technology Leadership and Innovation
  • Develop and maintain NDRI's technology strategy and systems roadmap in alignment with organizational goals, budget, and risk tolerance.
  • Participate in developing and maintaining the strategic software roadmap for Administration and Operations, helping prioritize system needs, improvements, integrations, and future investments.
  • Evaluate business needs and recommend secure, scalable, and cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Lead system implementations, upgrades, integrations, and process improvements from planning through post-implementation review.
  • Oversee technology vendors, contracts, projects, service levels, and standards to ensure quality, reliability, and value.
  • Establish and maintain technology governance, policies, documentation, risk controls, and compliance practices.
  • Serve as a strategic leader for the safe and responsible implementation of AI and other emerging technologies across the organization, partnering with leadership and business owners to establish governance, assess risks, protect data, guide appropriate use, and support staff adoption.
  • Partner with leadership and business owners to improve operational efficiency, collaboration, data access, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Provide staff guidance and training on the secure, effective, and responsible use of organizational technology.
  • This is a full-time position Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.
m. to 5:00 p.m. with a hybrid work schedule. Employees are required to work in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, while Wednesdays and Fridays are worked from home. Required qualifications : IT management experience, infrastructure and cybersecurity oversight, vendor/helpdesk management, disaster recovery, and budget ownership Preferred qualifications : AI governance experience, research environment experience, and staff training or cross-functional leadership
Pay:
$96,074.20 - $115,702.26 per year
