Job Description
Description We are looking for an experienced IT Manager - Applications IT to oversee the strategy, support, and continuous improvement of enterprise business applications in Texas. This role will guide application delivery, strengthen operational reliability, and ensure technology solutions meet business needs across a service-focused environment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, hands-on knowledge of Microsoft-based platforms, and the ability to balance day-to-day support with longer-term application planning and optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Direct and mentor the team responsible for enterprise application support, fostering accountability, service quality, and career growth.
- Lead the planning and execution of application initiatives, including enhancements, upgrades, issue resolution, and ongoing operational support.
- Work closely with business leaders to understand objectives, translate requirements into practical solutions, and improve system adoption.
- Monitor application stability, access controls, testing practices, and change processes to maintain secure and dependable performance.
- Manage relationships with external software providers, including support coordination, licensing oversight, and evaluation of product improvements.
- Oversee project schedules, resource allocation, budgets, and delivery milestones to keep technology efforts on track and aligned with priorities.
- Maintain clear system documentation, user guidance, and support procedures to strengthen consistency and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Evaluate emerging tools and platforms that can streamline workflows, expand application capabilities, and support future business needs. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience supporting and improving business applications within an enterprise setting.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience leading technical teams and providing day-to-day direction to application support staff.
- At least 2 years of experience managing application-focused projects from requirements through implementation.
- Strong background working with Microsoft business technologies and enterprise software ecosystems, including Microsoft 365 environments.
- Solid understanding of application security, configuration management, and operational support best practices.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Experience in regulated industries, low-code platforms, Dynamics 365, or Microsoft Power Platform is preferred.
