This is an onsite, hands-on leadership position. The IT Manager will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the company's technology environment while also providing technical expertise and escalation support when needed. The successful candidate must be comfortable both managing the IT function and personally handling technical work. This position supports multiple company locations and requires occasional travel and after-hours availability for critical system issues, maintenance, and projects. Essential Responsibilities Manage day-to-day IT operations and infrastructure across multiple company locations. Administer and support Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Manage servers, virtualization, storage, backups, firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, internet/WAN connectivity, and related infrastructure. Monitor system performance, availability, capacity, security, and overall technology health. Coordinate and perform server, network, firewall, firmware, operating system, and infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. Manage cybersecurity tools and processes, including endpoint security, MFA, threat monitoring and response, vulnerability remediation, security awareness, and access controls. Respond to and coordinate the resolution of cybersecurity incidents, system outages, and other critical technology events. Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and escalation support. Administer and support business applications and coordinate application troubleshooting, upgrades, integrations, access, and vendor support. Manage the lifecycle of IT equipment and assets, including purchasing, deployment, inventory, repairs, replacement, redeployment, and retirement. Manage technology vendors, service providers, contracts, software licensing, renewals, telecommunications, and internet services. Evaluate vendor performance, technology costs, utilization, and opportunities for consolidation or cost savings. Manage Microsoft and other software licensing, including additions, removals, renewals, utilization, and true-ups. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and other administrative automation to improve efficiency and consistency. Manage backup and recovery processes and coordinate system, application, and file recovery as needed. Maintain domains, DNS records, SSL/TLS certificates, and related technology services. Plan and coordinate system migrations, upgrades, maintenance windows, and other technology changes. Maintain IT documentation, procedures, system inventories, standards, and technology roadmaps. Participate in IT budgeting, forecasting, lifecycle planning, and technology strategy. Identify opportunities to improve security, standardize technology, automate processes, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency. Support technology due diligence and planning related to acquisitions and organizational changes. Lead technology integrations following acquisitions, including systems, networks, Microsoft 365, email, domains, workstations, security, applications, licensing, and vendors. Manage IT projects from planning through implementation. Travel to company locations as required for projects, maintenance, integrations, and operational support. Provide after-hours support when required for critical outages, security incidents, upgrades, maintenance, or other business-impacting events. Qualifications 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including significant responsibility for infrastructure and IT operations. Previous experience as an IT Manager, Infrastructure Manager, Systems Manager, Senior Systems Administrator, or similar hands-on technical leadership role. Strong experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy, and Windows environments. Strong knowledge of servers, virtualization, storage, backup/recovery, networking, firewalls, VPNs, switches, wireless infrastructure, and connectivity. Working knowledge of cybersecurity practices, endpoint security, MFA, vulnerability management, threat detection, and incident response. Experience managing technology vendors, contracts, licensing, purchasing, and service providers. Experience supporting multiple company locations preferred. Experience with technology migrations, acquisitions, or business integrations preferred. PowerShell or similar scripting/automation experience preferred. Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or field-service environment experience is a plus. Strong troubleshooting, organizational, project-management, and documentation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and take ownership of technology issues through resolution. Ability to work onsite, travel as needed, and provide after-hours support for critical technology needs. Ideal Candidate We are seeking someone who takes ownership of the technology environment rather than simply coordinating vendors or escalating technical issues. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable troubleshooting a technical problem, responding to a cybersecurity concern, managing a vendor, planning an infrastructure upgrade, supporting an acquisition integration, and communicating technology needs to company leadership. This position requires a combination of technical expertise, independent judgment, project management, and hands-on execution. Work Requirements Full-time, exempt position Onsite work required This position is not remote or hybrid Travel to other company locations as business needs require After-hours availability for critical systems, maintenance, security incidents, and projects Confidential Search This is a confidential search. Additional information regarding the company, specific work location, reporting structure, compensation, benefits, and technology environment will be provided to qualified candidates as they progress through the selection process.
