Reporting to the CIO, this leader will translate business priorities into coordinated technology roadmaps, lead major application and data initiatives, and establish a consistent approach to evaluating, prioritizing and delivering technology investments. The role combines strategic leadership with practical execution. The Director will partner with business leaders to improve core processes, strengthen data quality and decision-making, and build a PMO that provides clear ownership, predictable delivery and visibility into results. This leader will balance new programs with the reliability and continuous improvement of existing systems. Key Responsibilities Enterprise Applications Define and maintain the enterprise applications strategy and roadmap with business process owners, aligning ERP, CRM and other business systems with company priorities, growth and operating needs. Lead application selection, implementation, integration, modernization and lifecycle management; evaluate opportunities to simplify the application portfolio and reduce unnecessary complexity. Lead and oversee major application programs with business sponsors, establish accountable delivery owners, resolve cross-functional dependencies, and ensure effective transition into ongoing support. Establish expectations for application reliability, support, documentation and continuous improvement, with clear escalation paths and measures of service performance. Data & Analytics Strategy and Delivery Define and execute a data and analytics strategy and roadmap, aligning governance, integration, data quality, business intelligence and reporting with business priorities. Establish data ownership, stewardship, common definitions and quality measures; coordinate master-data practices and reliable information flows across enterprise systems. Lead reporting, analytics and data integration initiatives with business owners; deliver trusted dashboards, consistent performance metrics and insights that support planning and operational decisions. Partner with security and business owners to ensure appropriate data access, handling and lifecycle controls are built into solutions. Program Management Office Establish and lead the PMO, including a standard process for demand intake, business cases, prioritization, capacity planning, funding decisions, delivery and benefits tracking. Implement a common software development lifecycle (SDLC) framework covering requirements, design, development or configuration, testing, business acceptance, release and operational handover, with rigor appropriate to each initiative. Maintain an integrated portfolio view of scope, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies and risks; provide concise reporting and decision recommendations to the CIO and business sponsors. Set standards for project governance, change control, documentation, organizational readiness and lessons learned; coach program and project leads in their use. Leadership and Business Partnership Build and develop the capabilities needed across applications, data and program delivery, using internal teams and external partners effectively. Manage assigned budgets and vendor relationships, including delivery commitments, service levels, costs and performance. Partner with finance, operations, engineering and other functions to make investment tradeoffs, secure business ownership and ensure adoption of new capabilities. Work with security, finance and control owners to incorporate access governance, change approvals, testing evidence and applicable internal controls into application and data delivery. Requirements Progressive enterprise technology leadership spanning strategy, complex programs, teams and delivery partners. Success delivering enterprise applications and digital products from discovery and roadmaps through implementation, integration and adoption. Experience leading data and analytics teams, roadmaps, data products and BI/reporting, with sound data governance, integration and quality practices. Experience building PMO and portfolio practices for demand intake, prioritization, capacity planning and consistent delivery. Expertise in Scrum, Kanban or SAFe, with hands-on backlog management, planning, delivery, reviews, retrospectives and team coaching.
Expertise in design thinking:
user research, problem definition, collaborative ideation, prototyping and validation. Deep industrial aftermarket and field service management (FSM) knowledge, with experience deploying FSM solutions and connecting them to enterprise systems. Strong SDLC, project financials, resource planning, risk/dependency management, testing, change control and adoption experience. Clear executive communication of priorities, investment tradeoffs and delivery risks. Preferred Qualifications Experience in technology, engineering, research or manufacturing across multiple locations or entities. NetSuite or comparable ERP experience across finance and operations, including CRM integration with platforms such as Salesforce. Experience with public-company SOX or comparable internal-control and audit requirements. Experience leading business-process improvement and workflow automation across enterprise applications, with appropriate controls and measurable results. Data-platform modernization, analytics product delivery or post-acquisition integration experience. Jira or comparable tools linking portfolio priorities, team backlogs and executive reporting. Relevant education or credentials in technology, data, product/program management or Agile; equivalent leadership experience is valued. Soft Skills Strategic perspective combined with a practical, accountable approach to execution. Clear executive communication, sound judgment and the ability to make tradeoffs visible. Collaborative leadership that builds trust, develops people and resolves competing priorities. Comfort bringing structure to ambiguity while keeping processes useful and proportionate. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Work is primarily computer-based and may be performed from the Louisville office or remotely. The role requires regular collaboration with business and technology teams. This position may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
