Job Description Responsibilities :
Lead Application Engineering and Technical Service teams, ensuring consistent delivery of customer-focused technical solutions. Direct structured root cause investigations and laboratory testing activities to provide defensible technical recommendations. Recruit, mentor, develop, and performance manage engineers while promoting rigorous scientific methods and laboratory best practices. Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Quality, Product Management, and R D to communicate findings and solution recommendations. Support business development efforts through customer engagement, application design assistance, product evaluations, and validation testing. Develop and deliver technical training programs for internal stakeholders, channel partners, and customers. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive offerings, and market developments to strengthen technical solution strategies. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, legal, and quality requirements while fostering a culture of technical excellence and customer service. The Successful Applicant Ideal Candidate:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams in laboratory, applications engineering, technical service, or related environments. Experience with adhesives, coatings, specialty chemicals, or advanced material technologies strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of laboratory processes, troubleshooting methodologies, testing protocols, and equipment operation. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences. Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications; JD Edwards experience is a plus.
