  • About the Role
  • The Senior Manager, Vendor Management Office is responsible for enterprise-wide oversight of technology asset governance, vendor performance, financial optimization, and compliance.
This role ensures that digital assets, both software and hardware, are managed as controlled, auditable, and financially optimized investments across their lifecycle, from procurement through retirement. This leader establishes and enforces governance frameworks, manages vendor relationships and licensing obligations, and drives cost transparency and optimization. The role operates as the primary control point for asset-related financial risk, compliance exposure, and vendor accountability, while partnering with platform and engineering teams to ensure accurate data and effective execution.
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Asset Governance & Lifecycle Oversight
  • + Define and enforce enterprise policies and standards for hardware and software lifecycle management + Provide governance oversight across procurement, deployment, tracking, and retirement processes + Ensure alignment of asset practices with enterprise objectives, financial controls, and regulatory requirements + Partner with Endpoint and Infrastructure teams to ensure consistent execution of lifecycle processes •Software Asset Management & License Governance•+ Own software licensing strategy, compliance posture, and audit readiness across all vendors + Monitor license utilization and entitlement positions to prevent overuse, underutilization, and compliance risk + Lead vendor audits and manage remediation activities with internal and external stakeholders + Partner with Procurement and Legal to support license negotiations, renewals, and contract optimization •Vendor Management & Performance Oversight•+ Own vendor relationships for asset-related suppliers and service providers + Establish performance expectations, KPIs, and governance cadence for vendors and MSP partners + Monitor vendor delivery against contractual obligations, service levels, and financial commitments + Drive accountability and continuous improvement across vendor engagements •Financial Management & Cost Optimization•+ Provide transparency into asset-related spend, utilization, and total cost of ownership + Lead initiatives to optimize software and hardware costs through rationalization, reclamation, and demand management + Partner with Finance and Procurement on budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking + Ensure strong financial controls are in place to prevent waste and optimize investment value •Compliance, Risk & Audit Management•+ Ensure compliance with corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements (e.
g., SOX, ISO standards, GDPR, FDA as applicable) + Establish and maintain audit-ready processes and documentation + Identify and mitigate risks related to asset mismanagement, licensing exposure, and data security + Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits related to asset governance
  • Data, Reporting & Insights
  • + Define KPIs and reporting frameworks for asset utilization, compliance, and financial performance + Leverage enterprise platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera) to provide actionable insights + Partner with CMDB and Platform teams to ensure asset data is accurate, complete, and aligned to governance needs + Drive improvements in reporting automation and data-driven decision making
  • Collaboration & Leadership
  • + Partner with Procurement, Finance, Security, Service Delivery, and Infrastructure leaders to ensure aligned execution + Lead and develop a team of asset management and vendor governance professionals + Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for asset governance, vendor management, and compliance + Drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Required Qualifications
  • Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field + 10+ years of experience in IT asset management, vendor management, or technology governance in a large enterprise + Strong knowledge of software licensing models, compliance requirements, and audit processes + Experience managing vendor relationships, contracts, and performance + Demonstrated ability to drive cost optimization and financial governance outcomes + Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills + Certifications such as Certified Software Asset Manager or ITIL + Experience in global or regulated environments + Familiarity with asset management and governance platforms (e.
g., ServiceNow, Flexera) + Understanding of cloud and SaaS licensing models (e.g., Microsoft 365, AWS, Salesforce)

The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
