Full Job Description Objective :
The Technical Program Manager will manage the new product development team and successful launch of all products for assigned customers from quoting through production and sign-off. Qualified candidates will possess the following
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or 10 years of experience in an engineering function A minimum of five years of experience as an Engineering Program Manager in a high volume automotive manufacturer Strong knowledge of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel) Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, and collaborative skills Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and drive on-time completion of program a high degree of detail Exceptional professional attributes, including self-motivation, dependability, and confidentiality Ability to build effective work relationships while holding all departments accountable in their part of successful launches.
Essential Functions:
Personnel/Workforce Management:
Manage a multi-disciplinary team while working closely with Application & Development Engineers, Production Managers, and Quality Managers. Own all the New Product Development responsibilities for assigned customers, ensuring that activities for all projects are completed on time and within budget. Be the main technical interface with the customer. Attend technical review meetings with the customers to review new opportunities and provide solutions. Work with customers and Account Managers (Sales) to clearly define and document goals and objectives of new product launches. Complete all needed customer technical presentations and be the main customer interface for presentations and project schedule updates once a program has been won. Coordinate and track all project equipment, fixtures, and gages for your assigned customer(s) that is done by teams assigned to support your programs. Create and manage project timelines and provide timing plans and project status updates to customers per their requests and/or requirements. Identify and communicate risks of new product plans, and then communicate risk to management. Ensure due dates for critical items are communicated. Initiate and track customer billing and payments per product budget. Forecast monthly profit and loss for the company financial statements. Develop a justification summary and corrective action for management review and approval if budgets are to be exceeded. Organize and track on-time production and shipping of early parts, dies, gauges, and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages.
