The Senior Manager, Application Systems is responsible for leading engineering teams delivering application systems within Crop Care platforms. This role is accountable for technical strategy, execution, and performance across application-related subsystems and systems ensuring alignment with product roadmaps, quality standards, and business objectives.
The position provides leadership across multiple teams and disciplines, with responsibility for a broad technical portfolio and cross-functional delivery. Your Workplace This role follows AGCO's onsite work model, with employees primarily working from an AGCO location 4 days per week to support collaboration and teamwork. This role is onsite in our Jackson, MN location. Your Impact
Technical & Business Leadership Define and execute the engineering strategy for application systems, including liquid, dry, and chassis systems, aligned with Crop Care product roadmaps and business priorities.
Lead development of system architectures, technology selection, and platform scalability.
Ensure delivery of reliable, high-quality application systems meeting performance, reliability, cost, and regulatory requirements.
Drive innovation within application systems, including integration of new technologies and product enhancements. Program & Execution Ownership Oversee large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs with significant technical complexity and budget responsibility. Ensure effective planning, resource allocation, and delivery across multiple concurrent projects.
Drive adherence to engineering processes, including validation, design reviews, and lifecycle management. People Leadership Lead managers and senior technical professionals across application engineering disciplines.
Build and develop organizational capability, including succession planning and talent development.
Establish a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Cross-Functional & Enterprise Influence Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, Service, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure integrated product delivery
Represent the application engineering function in senior leadership discussions and governance forums
Influence broader engineering strategy, standards, and technology direction across Crop Care Operational Excellence Drive best practices in quality, safety, compliance, performance, and engineering rigor Manage engineering budgets, resources, and long-term workforce planning
Ensure alignment with global engineering standards and AGCO processes Scope & Impact Accountability for performance and results of a broad application module systems portfolio Leadership across multiple teams, disciplines, or sites
Direct impact on product performance, reliability, lifecycle cost, and customer outcomes
Decisions influence architecture, technology selection, and risk management Your Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or related); advanced degree preferred
Experience in agriculture equipment, off-highway, or mobile machinery systems
Background in application systems (e.g., spraying, material application, fluid systems and chassis)
Experience leading global or multi-site engineering teams
Significant experience in engineering leadership within product or systems development
Demonstrated experience leading complex engineering programs and cross-functional teams
Strong understanding of systems integration, module design, and product lifecycle management
Proven ability to influence technical strategy and organizational direction Your Compensation
This position will pay within the range of $111,000.00 - $205,000.00, based on experience. This position is eligible for a bonus based on 20% of compensation. Your Benefits Health care and wellness plans
