Job Description

Chipton-Ross is seeking a Project Manager 2 for a contract opportunity in Pascagoula, MS.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
(REQUIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o High School Diploma and 7 years of experience, Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience or Master's degree or above and 1 year of experience.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented IT Project Manager 2 to support and lead medium to large technology initiatives. In this role, you will help plan, track, and deliver cross functional projects by working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and managed service providers. You will assist with defining project scope, creating project schedules, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring communication flows effectively across technical and non-technical audiences. This position plays a key role in supporting project execution, maintaining alignment with PMO standards, and contributing to predictable delivery outcomes. The ideal candidate has experience coordinating IT projects, communicating clearly with diverse stakeholders, and applying project management best practices aligned with PMI guidelines. This role focuses on disciplined project management and execution to ensure projects meet intended business objectives. This role bridges the gap between technical implementation and business impact-ensuring projects are aligned with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities include:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
(DESIRED
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
): o Bachelor's Degree in project management, information technology, business administration or a related field, plus a minimum of 5 years of applicable project management experience successfully managing enterprise-level IT projects. Experience in heavily regulated industry such as defense or government contracting. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Planner/Project). Knowledge of multiple project management methodologies. o PMP or CAPM o Experience managing multiple concurrent projects within complex organizational structures involving outsourced partners and managed service providers. Strong technical background o Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical and management audiences. o Basic financial awareness, including experience supporting budget tracking. o Experience in shipbuilding or other manufacturing industry is highly desirable. o Experience with Microsoft Planner Premium o
AI Literacy:
o Demonstrable experience with AI-powered project management tools for scheduling, resource planning, or risk insights.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS
Full-Time 5/40, workweek.
