Job Description
Our client, a leading financial services organization, is looking to hire an APM Practice Lead in Plano, TX .
Location:
Hybrid - onsite Monday through Thursday inPlano, TX Duration:
6 Months plusPay Rate Range:
$60/hr - $68/hr on W2, depending on experienceResponsibilities:
Design and implement Application Portfolio Management (APM) routines, including application inventory management, capability mapping, application criticality, and application health assessments. Define application data standards and create a unified view of the application portfolio by leveraging existing Systems of Record (SoRs). Manage the application portfolio with a strong focus on data quality, completeness, accuracy, and integrity. Establish application governance, controls, risk management, audit, compliance, and application lifecycle management routines. Ensure periodic certification by application owners and maintain data integrity across upstream and downstream systems. Analyze portfolio performance and identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, investment, and application retirement. Partner with Solution Architects, Principal Engineers, Product Managers, business leaders, and other cross-functional teams to design and implement effective processes. Identify APM compliance risks, including outdated technologies, inadequate controls, and non-compliant vendors, and recommend appropriate remediation strategies. Track and report portfolio compliance, governance, and performance to senior management and relevant stakeholders. Support strategic enterprise initiatives, change management, organizational transformation, and initiative planning and execution. Build strong relationships across technology and business organizations and drive consensus on strategic priorities. Communicate effectively with executive stakeholders and advocate for the strategic value of technology investments. Develop productivity solutions using tools such as PowerApps, AWS Kiro, Vibe Coding, or similar technologies.Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience. 10+ years of leadership, enterprise technology, and operations experience. Strong experience in IT strategy, portfolio management, application asset management, and application lifecycle management. Proven success leading large-scale enterprise initiatives and managing complex cross-functional programs. Strong executive stakeholder management, communication, presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills. Experience with strategic planning and enterprise-level initiative planning and execution. Strong program/project/product management experience. Experience with change management and organizational transformation. Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, strategic thinking, and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams. Ability to build productivity tools using PowerApps, AWS Kiro, Vibe Coding, or similar tools. Knowledge of current and emerging IT trends, technologies, and best practices related to application and portfolio management.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within a top-tier banking or large financial institution environment. Understanding of banking solutions and applications. Experience with Application Portfolio Management (APM), ServiceNow/CMDB, application governance, or related platforms. Moderate understanding of enterprise technology stacks, technology strategy, and architecture. Visionary mindset with the ability to anticipate technology trends and assess their potential business impact. Strong negotiation and influence skills with the ability to advocate for technology strategies at the executive level. Collaborative mindset with the ability to bridge technology and business teams. High emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex organizational environments. Exposure to AI-enabled development and productivity tools such as AWS Kiro.Interview Process:
