Job Description
Senior Project Manager - Medicaid Technology & OperationsOverview We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex technology and operational initiatives within a large-scale Medicaid / healthcare environment . This role will oversee high-visibility projects involving enterprise systems, business operations, technology teams, executive stakeholders, and third-party partners. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for driving projects from planning through implementation while ensuring scope, schedule, budget, risks, dependencies, and business requirements remain effectively managed. The ideal candidate brings strong experience managing large, complex technology or healthcare projects , can operate effectively across both business and IT teams, and is comfortable working with senior leadership, vendors, and multiple stakeholder groups. Candidates based anywhere in Hawai are strongly preferred. Candidates located elsewhere in the Pacific Time Zone may also be considered . This role requires the ability to consistently work hours aligned with the Hawai Time Zone (HST) and support business, technology, and stakeholder teams operating in Hawai. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery Lead planning and execution of complex, high-visibility technology and operational projects. Manage project scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, resources, dependencies, and deliverables. Translate business objectives into actionable project plans and delivery milestones. Drive projects from initiation through implementation and successful closure. Manage multiple concurrent priorities while maintaining visibility into overall project health. Planning, Risk & Execution Management Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, resource requirements, and financial tracking. Monitor project performance and proactively identify schedule, scope, resource, or delivery risks. Maintain risk, issue, action, and dependency tracking and drive items through resolution. Adjust project plans and priorities as business or technical requirements evolve. Ensure projects remain aligned with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations. Business & Technology Coordination Serve as a central coordination point between business teams, technology teams, leadership, and external partners. Ensure business requirements are understood and appropriately reflected in delivered technology and operational solutions. Facilitate cross-functional meetings, decision-making, issue resolution, and project governance. Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and required decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Stakeholder & Vendor Management Build effective working relationships with senior leaders, business stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors. Coordinate internal resources and external partners to ensure successful project execution. Manage vendor deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and commitments as appropriate. Escalate risks and issues when necessary and drive stakeholders toward resolution. Financial & Executive Reporting Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting. Track budget performance and identify potential variances or financial risks. Prepare concise executive-level project status reporting. Provide leadership with clear visibility into project progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions required. Quality & Project Closure Ensure project deliverables meet established quality and business requirements. Support implementation readiness, transition, and operational handoff activities. Lead project closure activities, including documentation, lessons learned, and final project reporting. Required QualificationsExperience Significant experience managing large-scale, complex, or high-visibility projects . Demonstrated experience leading projects involving both business and technology stakeholders . Experience managing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, issues, dependencies, and executive communications. Experience coordinating multiple teams, vendors, and stakeholder groups within complex organizations. Experience managing multiple concurrent projects or a portfolio of initiatives.
