Hybrid Job Description IT Technical Project Manager Position Overview The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced IT Technical Project Manager for a 6 month contract opportunity with the potential to convert to a full time position. This role is responsible for leading the successful delivery of enterprise technology initiatives across infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, systems, and business technology environments. This position requires a blend of project management expertise and strong technical acumen. The ideal candidate will serve as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into actionable plans while driving accountability, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful project execution. This individual will manage multiple concurrent technology initiatives, facilitate collaboration across teams, and communicate effectively with both technical and executive audiences. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end to end delivery of infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, systems, and enterprise technology projects
  • Serve as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and resource requirements
  • Translate technical discussions into clear project updates, business impacts, and executive level communications
  • Drive project execution by proactively identifying and resolving obstacles, risks, and escalation points
  • Facilitate project meetings and ensure accurate documentation of requirements, decisions, action items, and outcomes
  • Utilize JIRA, Confluence, and JIRA Service Management to manage project tracking, reporting, and documentation
  • Apply Agile methodologies and ITIL best practices to improve project delivery, service management, and team effectiveness Key Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience managing technical IT projects within infrastructure, cloud, networking, cybersecurity, systems, or enterprise technology environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Proven ability to lead highly technical project discussions with engineers, architects, technology leaders, and business stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Knowledge of network architecture, virtualization technologies, identity and access management, enterprise applications, integrations, and cybersecurity principles
  • Hands on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and JIRA Service Management
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT Service Management experience
  • Experience leading projects using Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid project management methodologies
PMP, PMI
ACP, Certified Scrum Master, or other project management certifications preferred
  • Experience supporting technology transformation, infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, IT portfolio management, or merger and acquisition initiatives preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging for technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, drive accountability, and manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Must reside in the Atlanta Metro Area and be available for onsite collaboration as needed What Success Looks Like
